De Gea sent a farewell message to United supporters on Twitter at the weekend after leaving the clubs following 12 years there since signed by Alex Ferguson in 2011.

De Gea left Manchester United earlier this week after 12 years at the club

De Gea confirmed his exit from Manchester United on Saturday after his contract at the club expired in June and reports originally suggested that he'd stay at the club.

Despite months of negotiations though the club and player could not come to an agreement and this meant that the goalkeeper was released on a free.

United are expected to step up their pursuit of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana in the coming days with their opening offer of €45m rejected by Inter, who want closer to €60m.
