This week sees a whole host of Mayoral Elections take place across the UK with OLBG looking at some of the places that have the closest odds available from UK Betting Sites for the winner.

York and North Yorkshire is up there as one of the tightest markets for the winner with Labour's David Skaith just about favourite at 5/6 to win Thursday's election.

The candidates are running for the first ever Mayor of York and North Yorkshire which combines the City of York and North Yorkshire authority areas to elect their first leader.

Conservative candidate Keane Duncan is second favourite in the betting market at 11/10

The betting market around the York and North Yorkshire Mayoral Election shows that it's expected to be close with Conservative candidate Keane Duncan sitting at 11/10 in the odds list.

Latest analysis of polling by Labour suggests that the voting will be close with Skaith given a 34% chance and Duncan given a 31.4% chance according to the Guardian.

Bookies odds say there's a 54.5% implied probability of Labour winning compared to Conservatives chances of 47.6%.

Other markets offered ahead of a busy Thursday with different Mayoral Elections around the country

Thursday's polls will see voters around the country vote for more than 2,600 local councillors and 10 mayors in the last lot of local elections before the General Election.

OLBG have looked through some of the betting odds for these different elections, with the East Midlands Mayoral Election having the biggest favourite with Labour's Claire Ward 1/6 to be voted in.

Out of the five markets that are available to be bet on, it's only Tees Valley that has the Conservative candidate as the favourite with Ben Houchen 4/9 to be voted in as Tees Valley Mayor.
