Hi nors, great initiative.

I have found many of these threads useful since joining OLBG around 2 1/2 years ago and I sincerely hope that members will continue to initiate quality discussion threads on this forum, as the benefit of informed advice/discussion is invaluable in our daily battle to beat the bookmakers (and fellow punters on the exchanges).

I won't vote for the discussion thread that I initiated, but instead would like to cast my vote for the following topic, which is a subject that is very close to heart, namely:

Statistics For Horse Racing - Are They Worth Following?

I hope that many fellow members will get involved in this poll, especially those that rarely post on the forum, as greater participation will undoubtedly lead to improved ideas and strategies that we can all use to improve our betting performance.

All the best.

Rob.

The thread on 'Value Betting & Personal Tissue Pricing' has spawned several other threads and competitions since it was posted and for me is still one of the best around it has cetainly been invaluable to me and well worth a read. :win:

I have to agree with mc100

'Value Betting & Personal Tissue Pricing'

I had been betting for many years and it was not until I started keeping records and looking closely at how betting markets "worked" that my fortunes changed

It does not matter how good your selection method is or how many you winners you pick, you need to understand the concept of value to ensure you maximise profits.
I see many comments stating stating something along the lines of "I will only bet when I have value but I will not back odds on or if the price is too low", to me this shows that some people see the meaning of value as simply a larger price!!! and they do not understand that you can have very good value on a very short priced selection.

I haven't had a chance to read as many as I would have liked yet, but one that's stuck out so far was Bennucis what to look for paddock/conformation thread. Its lead me to a lot more reading in my own time on the subject. I don't feel qualified to vote quite yet tho as I haven't read enough.

Thanks guys for the votes, i can rejig the order or highlight those members especially like.

It would be good for those members new to olbg over the last year voted, as this is a simple way to get involved in the forum and these threads will help those new to horse racing.

I've recently been reading the 'Can You Predict Market Movers?' thread. It was quite a fun read and informative, especially if it is read after the tissue pricing thread. It has opened my eyes a bit in regards to picking potential bets rather than just trying to find a winner regardless of the price.

Thanks ian, its good to get feedback and votes from members who joined OLBG this year, we want to feature and highlight what members currently want on the forum, so newer members can help us with this process.

This is one incredible resource you've put together here, I must say. I'll work my way through some of the posts and chip in where I feel I can help but from the most part I don't think my input is needed.

It's good to find myself in company who understand the importance this knowledge and aren't reluctant to share or talk about it.

In the meantime though, could someone tell me how I can Vote? I must be missing something blindingly obviously here.
