<<< WEEK 1 SELECTION>>>

Man Utd v Birmingham
Under+2.5 (Total Goals) @ 2.29

No one is really sure how MU will play this season as the team was based around the Portuguese Winker and with him gone the system will certainly change. Perhaps they will be more aggressive in attack and go on the rampage but their 2 previous Premiership home openers have been edgy draws finishing as under 2.5 goals which is part of a trend as 70 percent of the last 3 seasons opening Premiership fixtures have ended as unders. They have not lost to Brum in their last 10 league meetings but I can’t see Brum coming here to attack so if United do get the win I feel it will only be by a goal or 2. What is positive in Brum’s favour is their defence which proved to be the tightest in the Championship last season, shipping in less than 1 goal a game with 37 goals in 46 games and overall they had 73 percent of their games finish as unders which is significantly high. You would think that Brum would strengthen attack or midfield given their situation but they have added further to their defence which is not a bad idea when you think about it because it will enable them to sit back and pick up a few points away from home as even single point draws can prove vital in a relegation battle. I am not saying MU won't win but Rooney and Berbs do not link up well together whilst Owen still looks off a little off the pace so it may prove a frustrating afternoon for the Reds. A small stake is best as the season openers can throw up some wrong'uns.

<<< WEEK 2 SELECTION>>>

West Ham v Tottenham
Tottenham @ 2.5

Getting this selection up nice and early because I think the odds will drop a fair bit come Sunday and they look really appealing at present. West Ham opened up with a win over new boys Wolves but their team does have weak spots and a lack of top players will takes its toll this season. They have managed just a single draw from the last 6 meetings with Spurs which did come at Upton Park and have just 2 wins from their last 16 H2H's. I have just watched my boys Spurs demolish Hull away from WHL which follows on nicely from our opening day win over Liverpool. Our defence may not be as strong as I'd like but it holds up most of the time and there is real quality in our attack from midfield through to the strikers which teams will struggle with this season.

<<< WEEK 3 SELECTION>>>

Tottenham v Birmingham
Under+2.5 (Total Goals) @ 2.16

Despite a winner last week, I reminded myself not to bet on my own team to win although here I am again betting on another Spurs game but this time on the goals front which I don't mind. We are certainly getting the goals at the moment with Defoe in great form but I feel we may have a tougher time of it against Brum. I have already said above in week one's selection about Brum's defensive nature and so far their 3 Premiership games have netted a total of just 2 goals. So do I think they can score? Well, at WHL we'll certainly take the attack to Brum which will of course leave holes but I can't see them causing us too much trouble with King and Bassong building up a good understanding at the heart of our defence whilst the Brum attack continues to look weak in comparisson to other Premiership big guns. I'm going against the odds again as this may not be the goal-fest that many expect!

<<< WEEK 4 SELECTION>>>

Armenia v Bosnia Herzegovina
Bosnia-Herzegovina-1.25 (Asian Handicap) @ 2.00

Armenia have not won for over a year now and have taken just a single point in this group so far. Bosnia will be looking for full points here to increase the distance between them and Turkey in 3rd place and they should be able to see off a poor Armenian side. Armenia lost 4-1 in a friendly to Malta in their last game and prior to that they took just a draw from their 2 group legs against Estonia, a team which Bosnia beat 7-0 at the end of last year. Bosnia look full of goals and should be capable of overcoming this handicap if they play to their potential.

<<< WEEK 5 SELECTION>>>

Stoke v Chelsea
Draw - Chelsea (Half Time/Full Time) @ 4.5

I don't fancy much at all in the Prem this week with Liverpool too short to bother backing alhtough I have done Arsenal on the +0 Asian and hoping Spurs can get something at WHL. So this week it's a bit more of a gamble but one which still has a good chance of coming off. Chelsea are looking the strongest of the title contenders so far with 4 wins from 4 and they are certainly playing well enough to merit another win here. It will be a harder test today though because despite Stoke being taken apart at both The Emirates and Anfield already this season they actually play some decent football on home turf. They have only lost 1 of their last 10 games at The Britannia Stadium whilst just 1 of their last 17 home games have gone to overs which demonstrates how difficult they make it for the visiting teams. The Blues have won their last 2 visits here and I think they will win again but with most players out on International duty over the past week, legs will be tired and it may not be until late on that they get the winner.
