Preston v Brentford

Preston are unbeaten at home after 6 games, but 3 of those games ended in a draw with 2 of the 3 wins coming by a 1-0 scoreline and despite this unbeaten home record I think they face a tough game today against a Brentford side that may have found wins difficult to come by this season but now look to have turned a corner after a poor start to the season.

Brentford are are currently on a run of 6 games without defeat and have lost only 1 of their last 9 games and they look good for at least a draw today (I will be backing them on the Asian Handicaps) and with a decent record in their 5 games played against teams currently in the top 10 (D4 L1) it could be worth chancing a small stakes bet on the away win at odds of 21/10 (BetVictor)

Brentford to win away 21/10 or 3.10 Saturday 3-00pm
England Championship

Saturday 3.00
Premier League
West Bromwich Albion
Ladbrokes 14/1

Football is a low scoring sport and simply more competitive than the ridiculous odds offered against West Brom beating Man City suggest. Tony Pulis skill as a manager lies principally in setting up sides who are difficult to play against and set piece expertise could come in to play against Man City who had to play 120 minutes in an unimpressive performance midweek in the League Cup.

Morning gracietyke, the draw isn't an option for the underdog compo, it must be home win or away win, feel free to choose another

Sheffield Wednesday 4/5 v Barnsley 4/1
England Championship today 12-30pm

Four of the hosts five losses have been in the last five games and with Barnsley gaining their first away win
of the season at Millwall 3-1 in their last road game the 4/1 for the away win does seem large for this Yorkshire
Derby. The visitors three away defeats have been at sides currently 1st, 2nd and 7th in the table and they also
picked up a point at unbeaten at home Preston. It may seem a risky proposition but recent form does give the
visiting side a good chance imo

Brighton v Southampton Sunday 1.30 Brighton 47/20 Marathon bet

Brighton are decent at home, taking 7 points out of their total of 11 so far this year. The saints as we know are not at their best and it took a great goal , albeit with some dreadful defending for them to get their nose in front last week against West Brom. Brighton will really be up for this as it is essentially a south coast derby that hasn't been played since christ left Lochwinnoch, of course the saints will be up for it as well, but I think Brightons strong home record can get them a win.

Bayer Leverkusen vs Cologne.
Cologne are rock bottom with just two points from nine league matches. Leverkusen have 12 points from a similar number of matches. Leverkusen have plenty of attacking talent and they showed at Moenchengladbach last week that if it all comes together they are a handful.
However too many times this season have the hosts failed to convert dominance into three points. Examples are matches against Wolfsburg and Schalke.
Cologne have lost just once in their last five league meetings against their hosts, and could just upset the odds today;especially if they take the lead.

Plymouth vs Rochdale

Plymouth win @ 3.40 League One Sat28th 3pm ko

I'm in agreement with davidg, and with a few other betters judging by the shortening odds, that Plymouth home win odds look nice.

Plymouth, newly promoted with similar point to Portsmouth and Doncaster, were always going to find League One a step up. So yes a bottom half team but nowhere near as bad as early season form suggested. As davidg already mentioned two very decent draws and a win away at AFC Wimb in their last 3 matches. This along with their very decent home form in recent seasons says they're more than capable of winning this.

Rochdale finished 8th in League One last season so this seasons relegation form a little unexpected. But even last season they were very much a home team, winning 13 at home whilst having an away recrd of 6-5-12 with 5 of those 12 losses away at bottom 7 sides. So a drop off from last season means away this season they are 0-4-3 (yep no away wins). So i certainly don't have Rochdale as the much lower priced of the two.

English PL
Brighton v Southampton
29th Oct 2.30pm

Brighton 3.30 @Bethard, draw 3.30 @Interwetten

Brighton started the season with a 0-2 home defeat to Man City which in retrospect wasn't too bad a result and have remained unbeaten at home in the following 3 games conceding only 2 goals in the process with one clean sheet v Newcastle.

Defensively Brighton have been impressive with keeper Matt Ryan in top form.

Southampton only have the one away win this season at bottom placed Palace and couldn't manage a goal away at Huddersfield. More recently a loss at Stoke doesn't inspire confidence that they should be priced as favorites to win this match. 2 away goals from 3 games makes me think it would be hard for Southampton to win.
