French Open Tennis 2017 Tipping Competition - £200 on Offer !

Postby PompeyJim » Wed May 17, 2017 10:33 am

OLBG are offering members a chance to win a share of £200 in our FREE and easy to enter French Open Tennis 2017 Tipping Competition which commences on Sunday 28th May and concludes Sunday 11th June.

Entry:

You do not have to enter this competition separately. If you are a member of OLBG then you just need to make a tennis tip (with a comment) from the ‘Make A Tip’ menu (link below) in the same way as for the monthly Tennis tipping competition.

http://www.olbg.com/members/maketip.php?id=9

Prizes:

£50 x 1, £25 x 2, £10 x 10.

The prize structure is £50 to the tipster with the highest level stakes profit at the end of the competition, £25 to second and third and then £10 for members placed 4th-13th. The prize fund is in addition to the normal monthly prizes which you can still win based on the criteria for the monthly Tennis competition.

As usual, prizes are doubled for Elite Tipsters and trebled for Super Elite Tipsters for tennis. If unsure your current status can be checked via your ‘My Performance’ page -

https://www.olbg.com/members/myperformance.php

LSP

This means Level Stakes Profit. So it doesn't matter if you select a stake of 50 or 500 for these tips. If you place a win tip on a 4/1 winner, you will then have a LSP of + 4 points. If you then have three losing tips, you lose 1 point per losing tip and your level stakes profit will be down to + 1 point.

LSP>0

Members must finish the competition with a positive level stakes profit to qualify as we don't pay prizes for negative LSP's !

Tips 15 or more.

A minimum of 15 tips must be placed on the French Open 2017 to qualify, any members placing less than 15 tips over the duration of the tournament will NOT qualify even if finishing the competition with a positive level stakes profit.

* Please note the minimum tip requirement has been raised to 15 from last year's 5 tip requirement.

Markets Available

All markets available to tip on for the French Open 2017 will count towards this competition, this includes Win Tournament (Men & Ladies) and match markets (win match, set betting, first set winner, total games 2 way, number of sets 2 way and handicap 2 way games won) etc..
The outright winner markets are already available for tipping, the additional markets will be available as soon as the first round draw has been made.

*Please note the qualifying matches prior to the official first round draw will NOT count towards the tipping competition.

Tipping Table

The competition tipping table will be updated daily during the tournament and can be viewed via the link below, some results may require manual processing which may not update until the following day.

https://www.olbg.com/tables/events.php?id=48

Tipping Comments

You must add good comment reasoning as to why you are tipping each player, match market etc when the tip is placed, tips without comments are excluded.

Poor comments or short comments on winning tips won't count. We just need a few good reasons as to why you are choosing the selection. The minimum requirement is at least 20 words explaining why you think your tip is a good bet for our site and app users to follow.

Also no copy and pasting of comments, you will need different and original comments for each tip, specific to the match market selected.
For example, duplicating a comment word for word for a player to win the match, the first set and set betting is not allowed and will be deleted. If the comments are not deemed of a good enough standard then those comments will be void and the tipster may not win a prize.

Comments will be checked and verified when the tournament has finished so if tipsters can make sure that their comments adhere to the rules, are clear, well written and punctuated as they are displayed on the OLBG website and mobile app for OLBG followers.
Lots of visitors are now following the advice, so let's show them the quality on offer !!

I’d just like to reinforce what Pompey Jim has said in the details above. We are committed to improve comment quality across all sports and with high profile comps such as this for the French Open it is especially important that the great knowledge our OLBG members have is displayed for all to see.

With that in mind, can I ask that all commenters try and give as much detail as possible for WHY their selection is a good bet. We have started to see a number of very brief comments lately and obviously the less information you provide the harder it is for other members to feel you are putting up a good bet. Please also try and make sure all your comments have original content that is relevant to the tip you are adding. Rehashing the same comment across different markets by just changing a few words is not what we are looking for so please make sure all your comments have a relevance to the individual markets.

If you are in any doubt regarding tip quality please get in touch via the contact form.

Some injury news to make members aware of, Del Potro has said he is a doubt for next week and could join Federer on the sidelines.

In the women's, Halep may not recover from a torn ankle ligament in time whilst Laura Siegemund is definitely out but the women's game could be boosted by the return of Kvitova.

The draw is at midday Paris time tomorrow (May 26th)

Thanks 'utr' really helpful especially anyone looking at tipping on the outright winner markets before Sunday. Halep potentially a big contender on her clay form this season to date, so could open up the ladies draw even further without Serena this year.

Such a shame with Del Potro, just seems unable to steer clear of injury.

Afraid I don't have time to go into depth (though all tips are on my page) but I like the look of tomorrows men's matches and have gone for set results in the hope of making a profit.

In order of odd size:

Cilic v Lopez 3-0 @2.2
Murray v Del Potro 3-1 @3.9
Anderson v Edmund 3-1 @4.59
Isner v Khachanov 3-0 @5
Monfils v Gasquet 3-2 @6.1
Wawrinka v Fognini 3-2 @7
Verdasco v Cuevas 3-2 @7.5
Chung v Nishikori 3-1 @10

Like Murray's odds to win the tournament @15 but holding until he plays Delpo to see if his performance improved.
I think the winner of Monfils and Gasquet is worth backing E/W as well.
