The Masters Snooker History and Past Winners
The Master's Snooker tournament usually takes place in early January and, since 2012, has been staged at Alexandra Palace in London, hot on the heels of the PDC Darts World Championship also staged at 'Ally Pally'.
Although not a ranking tournament, the invitations usually extend to the top 16 players on the world rankings and are the second-longest-running Snooker tournament in the calendar.
The first winner was John Spencer back in 1975; Shaun Murphy is the current champion, defeating Kyren Wilson 10-7 in 2025.
Ronnie O'Sullivan holds the record for the most Masters titles, with the first of eight coming in 1995 and the latest in 2024. Ronnie has made the final on 14 occasions.
