A Guide to the Hawthorne Racetrack

The Hawthorne racetrack is located near Chicago, Illinois. The course opened in 1891 and is the oldest family-owned racetrack in North America.

The racetrack has an inner turf course that is seven furlongs in circumference. There is also an outer dirt course, which is a one-mile oval and contains a two-furlong run-in.
