I have a soft spot for CHIEF BLACK ROBE, although he has been lost a little recently. Much of that was put to rest when runner-up C&D a couple of weeks ago, under Bass, who takes the reins again here. The OR has been tumbling, and at 95, a win is doable. He is the only course winner in the field and is 2/3 at this distance. Here's hoping this is the one that breaks the duck.

By far her best run came last time out on her handicap debut, which was over two and a half miles at this track. Did some solid work late on in the day there, so is well worth a try at this longer trip. Bred to be better than a 77-rated hurdler.

Won twice to end his season in February and needed his comeback run last month. May need softer ground to be at his best but is well in on old form. EW bet.

She looked one to follow when opening her account at Hexham in June and was in season when finishing down the field at Uttoxeter next time. The 2m4f distance was too sharp on her latest start, particularly with how the race was run on quick ground, although she still caught the eye with the amount of ground she made up. I think 2m7f on this galloping track is perfect and hopefully the six-year-old can pick up the pieces.
