A battle between this one and Chief Sunday, I expect. May need the run and Harry Skelton not on board, but nonetheless presents most upside.

Makes his seasonal reappearance. Sent straight over the larger obstacles for the first time. On the balance of his overall form, a mark of 115 doesn't look too harsh for this lad. He's bred to make a chaser. I'd expect him to improve over fences. This doesn't look a bad starting point. He managed to get his head in front once over hurdles, winning his maiden in a hack canter over this trip. The form of the win wasn't anything special, but he did have a useful mare called Musique De Fee beaten off 34L back in 4th place. He ran well in his sole visit to this track, finishing a decent 2nd behind Shengai Enki, beaten 4L by the winner. To be fair, he was 9L clear of the horse in 3rd place. Lack of recent run is no bother given his good record when fresh (form figures 222 off the back of 58+ day breaks). He's certainly bred for this discipline given how highly his dam rated over fences herself.

Southoftheborder is a tough and genuine gelding by Leading Light out of a King's Theatre mare, which gives him stamina and a touch of class. He ran very well on his seasonal return, running as though that it would bring him forward next time out. With proven winning form at this distance and on varying ground, he should strip fitter today and is likely to travel smoothly near the pace before staying on strongly late. He should go very close if jumping cleanly here.
