Ames may be hard to beat, being the 2/5 favorite from the James Owen stable, who is at Del Mar with runners in the Breeders Cup. His stable is in excellent form, and bookies are running for cover with short odds for his stable players. Therefore, a better price can be had to cause a bit of a shock. Nick Alexander, who comes from Leslie, Fife, with Shooting, his only runner at Wetherby, has been hurdling in France and is having a stable debut run here, which could see him being competitive. Possibly acknowledging information from jockey James Reverley about this three-year-old, who is by Group Three winner Chanchak, could have a robust attitude for a solid performance appearing, with Bruce Lynn here for one ride too.

GENBU is definitely of interest in this race. He has run on similar conditions on the flat, so there shouldn't be any concerns there. He's a course and distance winner, which for me is quite an asset at Wetherby! I can see him making the places in this.

Faire La Nouba has only had the one run over hurdles, and now her Irish trainer sends her over to this listed race. He could easily have found an easier race if the owners had wanted a day out. No real form to speak of.
