Won over this trip at Chester on Penultimate start off a 3 pound lower mark but William Pyle's 3 pound claim offsets that. Raced over a furlong further hurdling last time out at Newton Abbott and will be staying on here.

Tim Easterby's tough stayer looks a solid fit for this 2m Class 4, arriving in form after a decent Chester success and only 2lb higher, with regular partner David Allan booked. He's a proven Ripon performer (course winner), handles today's going, and his running style should suit this right-handed track where rhythm and stamina count, especially at this distance. Top jockey/trainer combo for this course.

I thought Cock And Bull was rather unlucky in both of the grey's recent second places, where it did not get a clear run in the last outing. Looks on a handy mark, and the yard is in form.

Big drifter from early prices, so maybe one to be wary of, but happy to take a chance at the prices. This is a huge class drop for the horse and James Owens' only runner on the card and he doesn't bother sending many up here. Last time he ran in a race of this quality, he was beaten on the bob in a photo with Diamond Bay at Goodwood, who is a bit of a Goodwood specialist. I think he'll be bang there today and the price is looking generous.

DIAMAND DE VINDECY has fairly good course form here and is at a workable mark based on the last run over this trip, which came from two pounds higher in the weights. Has run OK on the softer ground and is usually a much shorter price than this. I'm not too fussed about the run at Chester last time out as that came from a wide position.
