For whatever reason, this jockey isn't the most fashionable and his rides often go underbet but he's actually got stacks of ability and the horse won well for him at Epsom last time out which was the first time he had ridden him. There's a 5lb hike in the handicap to overcome now but I like the way the horse did it that day despite not having the clearest of runs, and he looks great value to me to back that up here. The time of the race was good too and the horse seemed to appreciate getting his toe in so there's plenty to like about his chances here.

Northern Raider at the foot of the weights, who won a qualifier LTO and should be able to cope with the 6lb rise and likely has more to offer. Won at Ayr in July from 7lbs lower, but the 3rd, Spioraldalta, has won 4 times since. The 4th, Bamburgh, has won, and the 5th, Cisco Disco, has won 3 times since. The run after was 4 lengths behind the highly progressive Crown of Oaks, so this has to be good each-way value.
