Soho Square has 1 win to her name, and it was a win here C&D in May. Took 6 months off after coming last at Sandown and made the comeback in October, 5 months on. Has had two runs for a new trainer on AW, and the Southwell second looks fair enough to entitle her to run well here.

Call Me Betty was a winner over course and distance last time and can deliver another big run here. The selection won with a bit in hand there, and despite a rise in the handicap, she might make all again.

Hilltop is back off a workable mark after running well at OR 74. He has solid AW recent figures and gets a high stall that should work in his favor, considering the track bias at Newcastle. 7f is his sweet spot, and the Kubler trainer and jockey combo are going well. He has a late kick and strength that could prove decisive today.

I thought Kaiya Frazer pressed the button too late on Brazilian Rose last time. And although all her course wins came over a furlong shorter trip, she's got a win over 7f elsewhere. Drift is understandable with other more fancied contenders being less exposed. Random jockey is also not ideal... But you never know.

Won off 65 here on 3 runs back and races here off 69. Can go well, weighted again to win. Must have an EW chance here.

Kindest Nation has been struggling for consistency this year, but her handicap mark has dropped by over a stone. This filly is pretty much still unexposed on the AW, having had just 4 runs on the AW. She was a little wayward last time on her return to the AW under a 5lb claimer and looks worth taking a chance with under a more experienced rider.

4 runs with 2 places, which were at this meeting last year. Only the one run this year with no placing, but that was in a better race and the first run since a long gap. Will be better returned to this venue, and a longer trip should work wonders.
