Wyld Bill is a course-and-distance winner, going for a hat trick. The main query is whether the handicapper now has the measure of his improvement. However, this is his trip, which is questionable for Epictetus, and the other chief opponent hasn't been on track for nearly three hundred days.

Hasn't won since his days with the Gosdens, but there are signs that he may have found his new level after finishing 3rd off this mark at Wolverhampton last month. He needs to back that up but should run well if he does.

Lightly raced 4yo. Two runs this winter after coming off an eight-month break. Staying on over 8f last month without landing a blow, but could be ready for a big run now. A return to the polytrack will suit him, along with stepping up to 10f, a trip which he won twice over last spring. Going off a couple of big RPR ratings he posted last April/May, he still looks nicely treated at the weights.

They reach for some new headgear and this horse has breeding that suggests this might be an ok trip despite it not having won over it before. Things that I like are the jockey who has won 5 times on this horse from 6 rides, and that he has won off a higher mark in the past. I liked those at the top of the market, particularly wyld bill, but he's drawn in the car park and his jockey is not having a good time lately...

Kate O'Riley returns from a break, having won in these circumstances in March 2025. Her flat victories have been at 8.5 furlongs and 12 furlongs. Today's 10-furlong trip can suit. With two wins and a second placing from three outings on artificial surfaces, the filly can make the four places at an each-way price.

This one may be a 'plot' and the trainer is known for targeting All Weather handicaps with horses returning from a long absence. Metallo's pedigree suggests the 1m 2f trip at Lingfield will suit and at double figure odds and 4 places offers much better value than Wylde Bill who is more exposed.

A tight-knit looking handicap where Qitaal looks overpriced at 14/1. He comes here on the back of a break and has dropped to a good mark after contesting better races. He was just touched off in a Grade 2 (this is Grade 4) on his penultimate start off of today's mark, and if fit can make his presence felt.
