Enpassant is in stall 2, which is a fair draw for him, and returns to a track and trip where he is unbeaten from one attempt. He runs off a mark of 57, which is workable given he has shown competitive form at and above this level already. Although his latest run at Doncaster was a bit below his best when beaten over five lengths, he had been in good heart beforehand, and the 7f clearly suits him better here. He handles a variety of goings, though his record on this surface is stronger than on similar ground today. With Tom Eaves keeping the ride for Michael Herrington, he could race handily in what looks an even-paced contest and is one for a win shout if returning to his peak form.

Shark Two One has strong course credentials, winning over C&D in June. Recent third at Carlisle shows he’s still in good heart and competitive at this level. Well-treated in the weights.

Yoshimi is the type to bring about an upset here. The Dream Ahead gelding comes into this astutely placed by his in-form trainer, and rider Tudhope is having a purple patch of winning form recently too. The horse has won three times in this grade and gets in here with 9.8 in a class 6 field. Two years ago at this meeting, he won a class 5 race with 10.0 as his impost, so he looks nicely placed given those factors.

A repeat of the form of the Southwell win three runs back would take this race. Jockey has had a winner from only three rides in the last two weeks and the five pound claim is a big bonus. Had a flat win at Doncaster around this time last year. That win came off a mark eleven pounds higher than this.

Returns to class 6 grade which is where he last won. Should be very competitive at this level. Generally held up and comes with a strong finishing run.

Still a maiden after thirteen runs, Shaw's Phoenix has gone close a couple of times at Yarmouth. She didn't produce her best run at Southwell last time, but she's interesting back on turf, dropped a couple of pounds in the ratings, and she looks like one to be interested in here.

Alyara is a 7-year-old mare trained by Joe Ponting. She comes into this race on the back of some extremely poor efforts. She has had three stables and has picked up 3 wins off marks of 64-60-47, racing prominently or making all in those wins over 8-10f. So today's mark of 46 clearly indicates a downward spiral. However, there could be some hope off the bottom weight of 8st 9lb, and she seemingly has come to hand this time of year in the past, winning twice in August. If the jockey goes boom or bust and sends Alyara straight to the front, she could well last home over today's shorter trip of 7f. Currie has also been amongst the winners of late after a barren spell.
