Competitive event, but this one looks the one who is making the quickest progress with plenty more to come. Two wins and a third from the last three runs and in top form. Yard in very good form with five winners in the last two weeks. Jockey's three-pound claim is also a factor.

He managed to get his head in front on seasonal reappearance, having just his second run over hurdles. He showed great battling qualities to get up on the line, beating Louis Veron by a neck. That form has been franked with the 2½L third Mattys Getaway and 4½L fifth Fasol both winning since. He ran even better in defeat on handicap debut last time out. Pitched into a competitive Class 3 handicap at Cheltenham, he ran a cracker, beaten just 3L by the winner French Emperor, finishing back in third. The mistake at the last hurdle certainly didn't help matters. He's gone up 1 lb for the last run. This race is weaker, but he has a bigger weight to shoulder this time. He's back against his own age group this time as well, so should find this race easier than the last one.

Improved from debut run over hurdles at Cheltenham when dropped in class over today's course and distance. I think it's a matter of building confidence, as he obviously has plenty of ability. Not the easiest ride, but should come on for that run. Interesting that he's out after only a couple of weeks.

You don't get many Bowen/Murphy runners at this price, and the 4yo looks worth a small bet. He ran his best hurdle race over Cheltenham last month before possibly getting caught out on the soft ground at Sandown. A repeat of his run back here would put him in the mix.

Looking for a bit of a wildcard to crash the places in a bit of a top-heavy card. Won here in March on good to soft going, and the softer conditions could really help.
