Call Margot is the selection in this race and looks well treated from a mark of 80, especially as she receives a useful weight-for-age allowance as a 3-year-old. Her most recent run at Epsom Downs Racecourse reads particularly well. Competing in a Class 2 3yo handicap over 5f off 76, she finished 2nd, beaten just ¾L by Naana's Shadow. Arguably, she was unlucky not to win, having met traffic problems on more than one occasion before finishing strongly once in the clear. Prior to that, she gained a deserved success in a Fillies' Handicap at Southwell Racecourse on the all-weather off a mark of 70, showing a good turn of foot to get the job done. The handicapper has reacted to her Epsom effort with a 3 lb rise, but she now drops in class and enters open company with a profile that suggests there could still be improvement to come. The form of her latest run looks stronger than much of what her rivals have achieved recently. With the weight allowance in her favour and a recent performance that hinted she is capable of winning from a higher mark.

Winner at Carlisle towards the end of last season who took a step forward from reappearance when beaten just a short neck in 3rd over 6 furlongs here last month. Back up a lb for that but is interesting on this drop to the minimum trip.
