This looks to be between the two last-time-out comfortable winners, Special John and Gata Ban. The mare Gata Ban won only four days ago by eight and a half lengths at Worcester and is two pounds well in under a seven-pound penalty.

He has 3 wins and a 2nd in his 5 starts over fences, with his other run being a 5th of 16 at Windsor. That can be forgiven, as it came in a Class 3 on soft ground over 3m 4f, all of which did not suit. He is up another 7 lbs for his win last time out, but he has the ground and trip to suit today.

Winner over today's course and distance on the penultimate start last month. Didn't enjoy the big drop in class here when running just eight days later, finishing a remote fourth. Freshened up since and looks a decent price now returning to a staying race.
