The 6-year-old donned blinkers for the first time and secured victory in an 8-runner C&D handicap 22 days ago, finishing just a half-length off Quercus. There are promising prospects if the headgear remains beneficial.

At the price, I am happy to take an each-way punt on the consistent Rain Cap. Does well at the course and is drawn well here.

As a six-time C&D winner, his course record speaks for itself. He was narrowly beaten by Dream Deal last time and is a model of consistency at this track. He's a horse who knows how to get into a place, and his proven ability makes him a very strong each-way play.

Just four runs for the 5yo mare this year, form 2124, and could still have a big run in her. Not disgraced three weeks ago in a much stronger handicap than what she now runs in. The form of her three previous runs is solid, a shade unlucky to bump into a couple of improving types. Worth a punt at this class 6 level.

Winner on reappearance at Musselburgh in May. Fair efforts since and went close off this mark at Hamilton in June. Below par last time so needs to bounce back but should run well if doing so.
