Kings Merchant has been a bit inconsistent lately but is a capable handicapper. He handles similar ground, is well treated on his best form, and could get involved today if reproducing his peak effort.

Only beaten by a neck four weeks ago after coming off a four-month break. The front three pulled well clear of the rest and split two rivals who have solid stats. Facing much lower-rated rivals in this handicap, and should be a player.

Only win from 19 starts came on the all-weather at Newcastle in March. Not as good on turf, but holds an each-way chance if in best form.

Doon The Glen is a strong value NAP. Excellent 2nd at Ayr last time, finishing hard behind Jet Warrior, who has since won again off 5 lbs higher and who has now been withdrawn from this race as the favourite. I backed this horse LTO, having caught the eye previously, and I am very much looking forward to seeing him run today. He has every chance.

Not a bad effort two runs ago when returning from a break. Faded tamely last time, but is 3 lbs lower and can do better.
