Top-class chaser who has not run over hurdles since 2023. On a mark much lower than when chasing and holds every chance.

Spillanes Tower is too short after a break, whereas the Willie Mullins 5yo is here after a 43-day break after finishing 2nd of 10 over today's trip at Listowel. Likely to strip fitter and is very unexposed, having only had 5 career starts (has won twice and a runner-up).

A 7-year-old trained by Gavin Cromwell, Backtonormal won a handicap chase at Leopardstown in February and has been well placed in hurdle/chase company before. The horse has shown stamina and course experience, but his recent record features some lesser runs and he carries a mark of 135. Good value each-way if he's returning in form.

winning is difficult enough so I've got to go for double figures & be happy enough to hit the frame. It's very rare to get a Gordon Elliott charge trading at double figure odds but I do like the look of his British 7 year old Gelding POUR LES FILLES, This very lightly raced Son of POUR MOI has been a very tricky one to get right having only raced 7 times since 2022 & taking big breaks in-between runs but every time I've seen this charge he's given me the impression that much more is expected. This lad returned from a 262 day break @Downpatrick (22f Yielding) winning by 9 lengths & followed this up with decent run @Cheltenham (24 Good) in a decent class 2 novice race where I thought he may have gotten closer had he not been hindered 2 from home. We have a bumper win on soft ground & decent 5th @Aintree in a grade 2 bumper on his résumé. The drop back in trip looks a positive aswell as running left again. Stable Jockey Jack Kennedy is in the plate. This charge is unexposed on his handicap debut & 14/1 the price is right for me EW.

The talented hurdler appeared to regain his form with a 9th place result in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham, but he was not at his best when he suffered a significant loss in a Grade 2 race at Fairyhouse in April. The Elliott stable is performing well as always, and jockey Millar, who has a 5lb claim, is also in fine form. If this 7-year-old is feeling more spirited upon his return, placing an each-way bet at 28/1 could yield a decent profit.
