Sosie flopped last time running in the Coral Eclipse at Sandown, but back on home turf at Longchamp with a good draw in stall 1, he should bounce back with a win.

Race 2 at Longchamp in France today is the Qatar Prix Foy - Group 2 for 4-year-olds and upwards over 2,400m. The suggested wager is for the straight win on the 4-year-old colt Almaqam from the Ed Walker yard, and he will be ridden by William Buick. This son of Lope De Vega is a classy sort with some top results, all in Group races recently. He has had one try at this course when narrowly beaten into 2nd in the Qatar Prix Dollar - Group 2 in October last year. He also has a victory over the highly rated Ombudsman 2 starts ago when winning the Brigadier Gerard Stakes - Group 3 (Class 1) at Sandown in April. A tough customer here who will take a power of beating.

Ran a fair race last time after a short break and under a penalty. A smart performer who has shown his best form over 1m 2f this year but also stays 1m 4f well. Should come on for the run and looks a strong player here.

Looks a fairly open Prix Foy, 10/3 the field. I think Arrow Eagle is well worth a chance here at odds available. Progressive this year, his last race has worked out solidly, with even the horse in 4th coming out and winning a Group 3. Junko in 3rd has chased home Rebel's Romance since, and 2nd Sibayan has won a Group 2. This horse will need to continue his upward trajectory, but he was game as anything in that sprint finish last time, so hopefully a bigger field and stronger pace can see him maintain the upward curve and make a mark here.

Osin has been booked for this race today. He loves riding this track, and on this horse, it gets the trip and ground. So I'm expecting a nice run for some place money.

Has run with merit against some of the best middle distance horses in training today and if they can get a decent run race here, then current 20/1 will represent very good Ew value in the race.

A chance is taken on Cheeky Boy running into the places at big odds. This raider from the Czech Republic has form at home, but the main thing is that he did well on his French debut, placing a close third of eight at 46/1 behind an odds-on favourite. Soft ground and 12 furlongs looked to suit, and he will get those conditions today. From an Aga Khan damline, there are some useful types as close relations, namely Ashkalani, who was 3-3 at Parislongchamp, including two Group 1 successes, and who won on this day in 1996. Cheeky Boy's sire, Holy Roman Emperor, was 1-1 at Parislongchamp (a Group 1 success). The damsire, Nathaniel, landed the King George over today's trip and went well on soft ground. Cheeky Boy looks too big to ignore at massive odds each way with the nine runners.
