The Pakenham Racecourse is located in Tynong, Victoria and is 74km from Melbourne.
Pakenham is a left-handed turf track and 2400 metres in circumference with two long straights, the home straight being 480 metres.
There are over 40 race days annually at Pakenham, with usually at least three race meetings each and every month.
The feature race held annually on a Saturday in early December at Pakenham is the Pakenham Cup, a Listed Handicap run over 2500 metres with a $300,000 purse. The prize money for Pakenham Cup day is in excess of $1,000,000.
