Geelong Racing Tips

Located in Victoria, Australia, the Geelong racetrack is just under 100 km from Flemington meaning it's a perfect track for local trainers to start their runners off before sending them to Melbourne.

The track is a popular one amongst racing fans mainly because of accessibility, like Kempton in the UK, the Geelong racetrack is a train station right night to the course.

The course is very much similar to those in the US being an oval, this one is 2,043m in circumference with a home straight of 400m which has a very slight incline.

Ran over a distance of 2,400m, the Geelong Cup is the feature of the racing season at Geelong, this takes place in October on each day during the Victorian Spring Carnival.

The race is held in high regard as the winner each year gets an automatic entry in the prestigious Melbourne Cup at Flemington racecourse.
