That was a respectable effort and gives her a solid platform for this race, particularly with an OR of 71. The key positive is that she's still only two, so there is scope for improvement from that first handicap experience. The 38-day break isn't a concern either and could have allowed her to strengthen. However, compared with some of the shorter-priced horses we've looked at, her profile isn't quite as compelling. Her recent form doesn't scream 'well ahead of the handicapper', and she needs to find a little more than she showed at Kempton to win this.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ Barak Warrior is one of the more intriguing profiles here because his earlier form can be largely forgiven. His qualifying runs had little impact, but the switch to handicapping and the decision to geld him clearly made a major difference, as he bolted up in a seven-runner race at Bath over 11.6f. That victory is particularly interesting because he wasn't just scraping home-he showed a completely different level of ability once given the right conditions. The fact that his form has been boosted since adds further substance to the performance. Now rated 69, he could still be ahead of the handicapper. He's also only three, meaning there could be further improvement to come.

She improved to finish in the frame over 7f in June, and the subsequent fifth at Chester is easier to forgive because she reportedly encountered trouble. The OR of 74 is higher than Barak Warrior's 69, so she has to carry a little more weight in the ratings, but she also has a stronger piece of previous form on paper. The question is whether she can translate that ability into a competitive handicap performance first time. The return to a potentially more suitable trip is a positive, and being trained by William Haggas adds confidence that further improvement is possible.
