Arkenstaar has won five races in his racing career and they have all been at Hamilton. He won this very race last season and a few weeks before he ran at Pontefract and was beaten by 4.75 lengths. This year, Arkenstaar ran at Pontefract again and this time finished 4.25 lengths behind the winner. He is now trying for a repeat of last year's victory after following the same path. He is the only course and distance winner in the field and is ridden by his usual jockey.
