OBSIDIAN VERSE got off the mark in good style at Southwell back in April, before disappointing back on turf around 5-weeks ago. To my thinking, the 3-y-o is likely to run better in this and retains plenty of upside. James Fanshawe has his string in decent order and although stall 10 is not ideal, I predict a prominent showing.

NEBBIA does not appear well treated, but, Hughie Morrison has had success with the family and this filly is likely to win a race or two more, before the paddocks beckon. Made her debut over a mile last autumn, but has shown her best form over 5f. Still, I am prepared to venture that 6f will see further progress and from a low stall, the selection could be over-priced, being well into double figures on the exchange as I type.
