There would be no more popular winner of the Open this week than Tommy Fleetwood after the heartbreak of the Travelers Championship. He can make amends with a win in the big one!

As far as outside bets go, Jacob Olesen has a good chance of a top 7 placing in the Open in my view. He is a rising star and has won as an amateur on a links course in Ireland.

Matt Wallace looks to be a decent each way proposition for The Open at 175/1. The English player finished in the Top 25 in the US Open and may well be better suited by Royal Portrush.

Shane Lowry won The Open the last time it was played here. He always seems to produce his best on the big occasion. With home support, he can make the Top 7.

Nick Taylor has been very consistent of late. He has made recent cuts and finished well - 4th in the Memorial and Top 25 in the Travelers and both the Canadian and US Open. He can again be up towards the top of the leaderboard.

Daniel Berger will be in a confident mood for a big showing at The Open this week. The American made the Top 50 in the Travelers and the US Open and can do even better at Royal Portrush.
