Couldn't be in much better form of late. Won the RBC Heritage earlier in the season, but the purple patch began when he was runner-up in the Canadian Open. That was followed by 22nd in the U.S. Open, 4th in the Travelers Championship, and then T3 in the Scottish Open last week. He has a great record on links courses, won the Alfred Dunhill in 2023, and is understandably fancied this week.

Had been playing well on the LIV Tour, but the wheels came off at Augusta when he could only finish 38th in the Masters. A runner-up spot in the PGA Championship was a much better effort, before he missed the cut at the US Open. Returned to the DP Tour with a 36th place in the Scottish Open, but should be much sharper for that effort.

A terrific links golfer who won the Alfred Dunhill in 2025 and warmed up for this with a 3rd place finish in the Scottish Open last week. Has previously won the Scottish Open, so a trip to Birkdale should hold no fears. Runner-up in the US Open last year, so a major breakthrough is clearly on his radar.

Started the year in red-hot form by landing the Sony Open and Phoenix Open in quick succession. He went off the boil a little after that but regained the winning thread by winning the John Deere Classic two weeks ago. He made the trip over to Scotland last week and put in a solid effort, finishing 11th. That will put him spot on for this week at Royal Birkdale.
