Rob Cross looks good value here to pick up another title this weekend, having just gotten back in the winner's circle with a Players Championship title in midweek. That was a big moment for him after some recent changes in his personal life, which I think could, in a roundabout way, allow him to now view darts as an escape rather than a distraction.

Karel Sedláček looks to be in a nice mini section of the draw, with a group of top players in and around him in his bracket who have been away together socially on a stage in the last 10 days or so. Most of them were underwhelmed in the midweek Pro Tours afterwards. Sedláček is a dangerous player on his day and has twice reached the quarter finals on the European Tour. He is only £6,000 off a qualifying spot for the European Championships as things stand, so a run to Sunday here would do wonders for him. He's been playing well this year, having reached a couple of semi-finals in Players Championship events, and will be almost like a home player here this week in Bratislava.

Peter Kelemen is a solid player who has come through the Eastern European qualifiers for this, so is not to be mixed in with the poor-standard home nation qualifiers from yesterday. He has Challenge and Development Tour experience in the PDC and has also played some stage games in the WDF, so is not as green as you would expect. I like him as a flier here to take to the European Tour stage well and upset Joe Cullen, who is the dictionary definition of inconsistent. Simply the sight of him being this short odds-on for any darts match makes me feel slightly queasy :)
