With the top staying Kyprios now retired, this opens the door to Trawlerman, a game second in this event last year, to go one better. Its seasonal debut at Meydan was pleasing but nothing more. A ressilient performance in its latest effort, winning at Sandown in an average group three, gave the impression that its level of form was still near to that of last season. A repeat of that Sandown race if showing the same determination in running should be too good for today's opposition.

Todays event though the minimum trip should if ridden prominently be a golden oppurtunity to collect this valuable prize, but again does not want to be ridden like a cavalary horse !

In a race that is virtually a rerun of the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury all eyes will be on Rosallion who put up a creditable performance coming back from almost a years abscence to finish a pleasing third that race will have sharpened him up no end so a big danger. The selection Notable Speech who finished a close fourth in that event on its reapearance might just have the edge if it produces that running today, a race to watch and enjoy.
