Ladbrokes have always had the inside line with the Ballydoyle horses and they are 40/1 about this in the early market. Considering the horse has never , ever started at more than 13/2, it does seem odd, now running in a race similar to others where he ran ok, that he should be such a huge price. It would be rude not to take those odds to minimum stakes!

It has been a character building couple of weeks for the rider but he is rock solid and can be relied upon on any horse with a live chance. The stable too, his main supplier of winners has had a few winners but well below its capabilities. This is the best pot of the nighht at Kempton and looks very competitive but the figures suggest the Dubawi gelding can repeat his latest run here and win again from a good draw.

The thinking man's trainer clearly thought the going at Haydock was too bad for him and re-routed here. Has proved he can handle this quirky track and seems to stay the trip ok. Two points lower than his last visit and the stable is in much better form this time. Still on an upward curve and has the time and class rates to make it easy for Hector who is thriving along with the trainer.

A day to watch more than play and as tricky a Saturday as ever. Karl Burke hit the high notes last week with a 123 in the Ayr Gold Cup. Interestingly O'Meara fields three in the Cambridgeshire and they are all live chances - you never know! Meanwhile, this filly, by Camelot out of a Shamardal mare could be anything in the longer term. She made her debut on heavy ground so today's conditions should suit her fine and sure to stay the trip.

It is not unknown for 3yo's to win this, about ten I think since Vaigly Great in 1978. There has been a significant draw bias this week towards the low numbers which would help to explain American Affair being clear fav. He is worthy despite the huge rise in the weights and is as genuine as they come. Worth a try with Kevin Ryan's lesser light, a CD winner and looks fairly treated and is drawn in 2. It would be more encouraging if the stable was in better form but you can't have everything ! Has been backed at big odds and the rider is a capable one.

Nice filly and she picked up two massive pots as a 2yo. Only seen twice this year so maybe a few issues. Not run since May when the stable was not really firing. Well in the groove now and she can make up for lost time here and should not be hindered by the going conditions. The rider has had a mixed week but his focus is never diminished.

Ran a blinder in the Clipper Handicap at York and was just held. Tudhope was on the wrong one that day and with O'Meara fielding the top two in the weights and both being top on the clock, he could easily be on the wrong one again. Yet to win but Mirsky is clear top on my ratings and all the money has come for him this morning. It may be prudent to have a small saver on Padishakh though as Dave Nolan is aboard and there has been a little support in the market.
