This is a very winnable race for the selection, who has been thrown into the deep end numerous times as a 2yo, running in the Coventry Stakes, Richmond Stakes and a stakes at Deauville. That alone shows what connections think of the horse, and he must be taught capable of a lot better. He won his maiden and a novice either side of his Coventry run. He is very interesting returning today, back down in trip and gelded for trainer and jockey with a sole entry and ride today.
It will be interesting to see if he tries to make all here or plays his cards late. Either way, a big run looks on the cards on the road to bigger and better this season (NAP)

LOCAL LAD(NAP)on handicap debut gets a confident vote in this at double-figure odds. He returns as a mature 4yo now and has enough experience gained as a 2- and 3yo against some good horses to finally make his mark. This looks a great opportunity. It is very hard to ignore the fact he is a half-brother to Suffolk Stakes entry and very smart CROWD QUAKE an eight-time flat winner to date, and his half-sister ROSE GHAIYYATH looks a very smart Group filly and carries some big entries. While Local Lad hasn't hit those heights yet, he for sure is one to keep the faith with, and on handicap debut looks the best each-way bet of the day.

Third run in Ireland today after two respectable runs over 7f at Dundalk. Moved over from the UK prior and has good form in the book there, including three handicap wins last year and numerous solid efforts posted. A return to grass today and a drop back in trip ??" a big run can be expected judged on lifetime form in what looks a very winnable handicap despite the big field. The selection has crystal-clear claims, and there are five places on offer. NB

The bumper form of MANALISHI, who ran a fine second on debut behind Limerick Lass in April last year, shows good ability. While he didn't fare too well in a novice hurdle seven months later, where he made mistakes, he returns now fresh. It's interesting to see connections being very patient with this; it's just his third start. He could very well be one that comes to form around this time of year. If his jumping has sharpened up, the two main dangers, Jimmy Hurdstrom and Plains Drifter, may lack the natural speed to cause the selection any problems if it turns into a dash for home. The selection is fully unexposed for this Maiden Hurdle.

Last year's winner was ridden prominently, so it can pay to be up on the pace. Forever My Prince is a course-and-distance winner and looks sure to be right up there early. He may even try to make all.
He will have benefited greatly from his last run, which was off the back of a five-month break, and judged on lifetime form should improve with a run.
Drawn in post 7, great chance at double-figure odds at a career low mark.

This ex-Gordon Elliott-trained horse will appreciate this step up in trip here. This small trainer, who had a 31L winner back in March, could make it two wins from three entries in the last month. The horse looks well in, and despite the form figures, which do not inspire confidence, the step up in trip does, as do the EW odds. Distance winner in Ireland a few years ago.

The Son of Camelot ticks a few boxes here. Drops back in trip from last run over 2m 5f to a trip which suits. Carries bottom weight here, which is a big bonus. On ratings alone this is the easiest task he has ever had, having won off a rating of 124 in his career and been close up placed off 119, 122 and even 130. Off 118 here he can go very well at big odds. His best form has come in the month of April, which is another plus, and he looks well placed for Paul Nicholls. NB

This doesn't look a strong race. Order Driven can put his experience to good use and improve enough to go close. He stumbled badly on the home turn last time, didn't recover, and may have finished much closer. He carries a lightweight today and has seen good support in the opening market, which points to some confidence behind him. In a race that lacks any depth, he looks the best bet.
