Act Of Authority

Win

117

Lewis Saunders is back on Act of Authority in the Martin Pipe, where the pair finished 2nd last year. Favourites don't win this race, so his 12/1 price is very appealing, especially for a proven Festival horse. He knows the track and can handle the occasion, and I'm confident he can go one better this time and win it. Worth an each-way for the price, and the ground will be hacked up by then so anything could happen, but he's still my NAP.

Its On The Line

110 WIN

@+500

Hunters' Chase usually goes to horses aged 8 or older who have had a recent run and either won or placed last time out, with a rating of over 125. Its On The Line fits that profile well as a nine-year-old rated 140 who finished 2nd just 47 days ago. Eleven of the last 12 winners had their previous run within 53 days. Its On The Line could not match the profile better, to be honest, and I'm very confident he'll get revenge on Wonderwall for what happened in 2025.

Current champion looking to retain his crown. Much like Al Boum Photo, Galopin Des Champs, and Best Mate, Inothewayurthinkin has the ability to win back-to-back Gold Cups. Last year he won off a mark of 160, and now he's improved to a rating of 170. Not sure how he's only fifth favourite in the market, to be honest. I reckon Jack Kennedy will lead throughout on Firefox, and then Inothewayurthinkin will charge on with two to go and nobody will be able to catch him. Gold Cup x2, here we go.

Short-priced horses don't win this race, and Espresso Milan's price and profile look perfect for the Albert Bartlett. None of the last 12 winners were favourites, so that's Dr Steinberg out of the picture. Only two of the last 12 winners were in the top three in the market, so that's two more chalked off. Ten of the last winners were 11/1 or bigger, so Espresso Milan's current price of 16/1 is ticking every box. Distance shouldn't be an issue, and he should outlast the rest of the field.

I usually go off trends, but this race is still new, so there is not much to go on in that respect. However, Spindleberry's OR of 153 should be plenty to win this with Paul Townend on board. He's had some shocking rides so far in the festival, but if he chooses to ride her prominently at the front, I can't see Panic Attack or the other Mullins mare, Dinoblue, getting ahead of her. Spindleberry to win.

Race is won by 5- or 6-year-olds carrying less than 11 st 3 lb. Sinnatra is 6, carrying 10 st 5 lb and won last time out, 21 days ago. Looks like an improving handicap hurdler with massive potential and already more than enough ability to win the County Hurdle today.

Minella Study looks the standout Triumph horse. Despite a lengthy break compared to what trends suggest the winning profile should have, Minella Study arrives with a Cheltenham win already under his saddle. Unbeaten in three hurdle starts and proven over course and distance, he should win this.

Wade Out heads the National Hunt Chase trends dashboard, meeting 12 of my 13 key indicators. Seven-year-olds dominate this race, and his rating of 144 sits comfortably above the typical winning threshold of 139+. With proven stamina, which may come into use with the longer run-in at this year's festival, as well as recent form this season and previous Cheltenham experience, Wade Out fits the historical profile of the race extremely well.
