On the face of it, Nogos Dream has the worst form figures of all the runners here today. What makes him interesting is that the warm favourite Betties Bay has never met horses of today's class before. She found one too good last time out in a Class Four race, where the competition was not as strong as today. Nogos Dream has met strong competition in all his recent races. Though he finished fifth last time out, he was beaten by less than a length. At 11/2 he is a very interesting prospect today.

Jake Loves Laura was well there a furlong out last time, and today she has a furlong less to travel and a big weight reduction. If she can make the frame, she will be a big price.

She breaks well and has led in her last two races, and that is perfect for this course with the early part being run downhill. I would not tip her on courses like Pontefract or Beverley, where she would be tiring on the uphill finishes. But here at Catterick, if she can poach a lead there is nothing coming from behind that has shown they would catch her. However, as we know, horses can always sprout new legs in these events. All the same, Skip To Victory has a great chance in this contest.

This is a tough call, as the three market leaders all ran well last time out, particularly Jancis, who was very impressive in a fast-run race and looks a class act. Stateira was withdrawn from that race and takes her chance here today. A M Balding does not have great success at The Curragh (0-14), but I believe Stateira is well overpriced here. She has done all but one of her races on All-Weather surfaces. If she takes to the turf, I think she could run a big race here, and 11/1 is a very good price for her today.

There was little between Prevalence and Green Carrera last time out at the Curragh. Both horses were returning from a break and both finished really well. There seems to be a lot made of the jockey briefly stopping riding 50 yds out on Prevalence. To be honest, I do not really think that made the difference. Green Carrera came from a long way back and will also strip fitter today. I believe Prevalence had no luck in running, and with a clearer passage would have been much closer to the eventual winner. This is a tight call, so care should be taken.
