Finished 4 lengths behind Forty Coats in his second P2P. That horse went on to finish 4th in the Baring Bingham Novices Hurdle and is now rated 144 over hurdles. Considering Joining Force makes his chase debut off 102, and with the form Fergal O'Brien is in, I think 7/2 looks like good value. This race is 2f more than the previous hurdle races he has run in, and it looks like it will suit.

Break over the summer should've suited, jumping wasn't great last season but on a fair mark unlike a few of these. Sam Thomas has only had 2 runners over the past 2 weeks with a winner and a second showing his horses may be in a bit of form. Dylan Johnston is in great form himself and his 3lbs allowance should help.

Form figures aren't the best on paper, but once you look into them, they are fairly good. He is a half-brother to Steel Ally, who came 2nd in the Welsh Champion Hurdle and is currently rated 145 over hurdles. Maybe soft ground didn't suit LTO, and with Bowen on board, I'm prepared to take a chance.

Needed the run last time out and willing to forgive her for it. She has only had one previous reappearance where she finished 5th, on her second run back she ended up winning in a handicap hurdle here. She looks like a chaser in the making and I think she will go close here again today.

A fair bit to like about the Skelton runner here, now dropped down in class. Already an experienced chaser and fit, having had a run 3 weeks ago. A fair few of these look like they will need the run, with a couple coming back off wind surgeries. Another bit of form I like is his last C4 run in December of last year. He was a 10-length winner off 4 lbs higher than he is in this. The second in that has placed twice since, the third has won a C3 handicap chase, the 4th went on to win a C4 handicap chase, and the 5th went on to win 3 successive handicap chases.

Carrying a nice low weight here for a trainer who has started the season nicely, has by far the best hurdle form in the race and if he takes to fences he should win this without much problem.

Some reasonable form over this trip in her P2P days. Could be potentially unexposed here in a race where a few look like they will need the run. Tim Vaughan has been in good form over the past couple of weeks with 2 winners from 4 runners, and the booking of James Bowen has piqued my interest.

Very fair mark for his first run of the season. Has some previous P2P form that has worked out very well, namely finishing 3 lengths second behind Clondaw General, who is now rated 125 over hurdles, and finishing 2 lengths in front of Jeannot Lapin, who is now a 142 rated chaser. Has won fresh before and is definitely a horse to keep an eye on.

Fergal O'Brien's only runner at Fontwell looks to have a great chance after being given what looks like a very low mark from the handicapper in his first run in the UK. Irish form wasn't the best, but if you look past that, he had shown glimmers of potential in his two point-to-point starts, and it seems like the change of trainer could spark some improvement.

A lot to like about this grey mare, ran in a similar 13 runner C3 3m1f handicap chase at Hereford last December and finished 3rd and 8 lengths behind the winner. She is 5lbs down from that mark today and having won fresh before I think she can go close here, especially considering the form Emma Lavelle is in.

A lot to like about this 7-year-old gelding, and this drop in grade should suit now that the handicapper has dropped him down a fair few pounds. Previously won a G2 Novices' Hurdle here. Course form at Cheltenham tends to be important, and with Evan Williams in reasonable form, Minella Missile can go close here.

2 seconds in his only 2 starts over fences. I have a feeling the soft ground and the trip will suit off a very reasonable mark. The main thing that caught my eye was Lough Owel's point-to-point form, namely when he won at Fairyhouse beating Sea Music, who is now rated 139 over fences. If he keeps on progressing as he has this season and shows a bit of the promise he had earlier in his career, he should win this well.

Back over hurdles last time out after 2 falls in successive chase starts, showed improvement and ended up winning, beating the second by 2 lengths and the 3rd by 9. The handicapper has only raised him 2 lbs for the win, and there is no reason why he can't go close again for the Twiston-Davies's who are in good form.

A horse with plenty of potential, won his bumper in Hereford on G/S ground well, and the stable has indicated that he will be one that improves further over a hurdle. Ran green at Hereford and still impressed, so you would imagine there is more to come here. Nicholls' horses are running well first time out for a change, so it's hard for me to look past Doctor On Call in this, especially with 3lbs claimer Dylan Johnston riding.

Emma Lavelle is in great form at the moment and could strike again here in a tight 3m handicap chase. Kits Coty is back from a wind operation after petering out towards the end of last season. She actually finished 3rd in this race last year on reappearance and was only beaten by three-quarters of a length on what will be similar ground. She is running off 7 lbs less in this and will go close.

Don't usually like to bet at odds this low, but in this case, evens is value. She is the classiest mare in the race by a long way, and I am having a 3pt bet here. She has already shown off her jumping ability in her P2P win and is related to some very impressive horses. I would expect that this will be the lowest quality race that she is taking part in for a long time.
