Novelista is one with a good attitude and was able to cope with conditions at Goodwood last time when winning diligently. This is very much a different challenge where stamina is at a premium. There is still room for more over extended trips, and this one represents Charlie Johnston, one of the best trainers, so I trust his judgment turning this one out again relatively quickly.

Light As Air gets in here on a good mark, and this colt certainly looks capable of more here than has been shown so far. I think it is also a good move not to try and move up in trip so far, to potentially keep more ability under the radar.

Welbury showed really encouraging form first time out. After looking green in the early stages, things clicked into place and the gelding ended up in third. Callum Rodriguez is a good choice, and I think the early market moves for this are encouraging.

Lambourn supporters have reasons for excusing the last run in the Voltigeur at York. When winning the Derby, this looked the obvious race to see this one in. The pace should be a lot more even today, and I hope if it's not, then Sean Levey just takes the initiative and just leads on. Scandanavia is a worthy foe, and Carmers proved last time that the colt is worthy of his place in this. I am just going to stand by the Derby run, which was outstanding.

Diamond Necklace is a costly filly that gives O'Brien and Soumillon a less competitive challenge than what could have been chosen. Still, in the Rockfel at Newmarket in a few weeks, we shall see where we stand after today. If ridden off the front, I can see this putting in an impressive performance.
