The Final Furlong

Returning from a layoff w r looks well handicapped with the step up in trip is sure to bring out plenty of improvement in him. He has very strong form at this track and all of his form to date I'd say he's about 8lb well in, and they've been over trips too short for what he'd want based on breeding. He's carrying a low weight and is only a 6-year-old, so can still be progressing and providing he's fit enough here i think he should run well for the yards only runner of the day at their local track.

Hasn't been seen for a while but is used to competing at a much higher level than thi, and this is only the third time he's ever dropped to as low a level as this. The last two times he raced at this level resulted in an easy win and a good second to Starlust, who went on to win the big Group 1 Sprint at the Breeders' Cup. He drops a lot in class here and with the ability to go well fresh i think he's very overpriced. My one concern is that he has no AW form and this could be used to get fit for a winter campaign in Dubai, however he's the class horse here and hopefully James Doyle isn't coming here for this one ride for no reason.

Nothing to prove in terms of fitness and although off top weight, I'm not too bothered as she's got the class to make that count. She made her seasonal debut at Carlisle where she gave weight to a progressive winner who won a Listed by eight lengths on Wednesday. She will come on for that run for a yard in good form and she could get her own way from the front here at a track which favours front runners. Her main marker rivals would probably want more of a test in trip than this so there's every reason to think she will get them out their comfort zone and be hard to pass.
