Lake Victoria is a brilliant 3-year-old trained by Aiden O'Brien. He is ridden by Ryan Moore, and this is their second ride of the season after a disappointing first ride, coming 6th at Newmarket. Lake Victoria won the Breeders' Cup last November, so it shows the quality and calibre of the horse. I expect Lake Victoria to improve after the first race and have what it takes to win today.

Crystal Spring is a 4-year-old ridden by current champion jockey Sean Bowen. He is running the exact same trip of 2m 4f around Uttoxeter today as he did almost 3 weeks ago at Fakenham, where he came a close second, losing by a length and 3/4. The favorite's service minimum is up in trip half a mile and also up in the weights. Crystal Spring has a huge weight advantage over the favorite, and I think that if he can build on the last race, he will take some beating today.

Kalpana is a 4-year-old trained by Andrew Balding and ridden today by Oisin Murphy. In his last run, he won a Group 1 race at Ascot comfortably over 1m 4f. Today he drops to 1m 2f, and I don't think this will be an issue given the turn of foot he has shown. With 3 places available, I think he is definitely worth an each-way shout as I think if he does not win, it will be close. See it as a bit of an insurance bet in case he isn't first past the post.

Saddad is a 3-year-old trained by Roger Varian. Last time out over course and distance, he finished 2nd behind Gethin, who has now been entered into the Arc, showing his quality. With Silvestre De Sousa on board, should he be able to replicate his last run, I think he will have a great chance of following up with a win.

This horse has not won since last September when it won over both course and distance. He has been upped in class recently and underwent wind surgery at the end of 2024. He comes off the back of a poor run at Sandown 3 weeks ago. However, he finished a promising second at Haydock in a class 2, 4 weeks ago. He drops down to class 4 today, with Harry Skelton on board. I think this horse will win the race.

Won over C&D in August last year and won this exact race in 2021. Comes off the back of a win at Sandown around 3 weeks ago and has been given a 3 lbs penalty. Although he is up in trip to his last race, I think this will suit him and the run 3 weeks ago will have given him the run out he needed to progress onto winning today's race.

Progressive 3-year-old trained by the in-form Jennie Candlish. Trip suits him and the ground does too. He isn't the best starter, but he has a great turn of pace to finish. Comes off the back of a win and a 2nd by a nose in class 4 company and is upped to class 3 today. Runs off the same mark of 76 as his previous run at Beverley where he finished 2nd by a nose. With form of 122312, this horse is in great form and at this price with 4 places available, he is definitely great value.
