14:30 Ryan Joyce vs Owen Bates

Ryan Joyce

Win Match 2-way

50 WIN

@1.35

Owen Bates has had a much-improved season this year but is still in a position to lose his tour card. He will be able to get a new one, though, off the youth season. But Ryan Joyce is one of the more underestimated players on tour right now. He always sits just outside the world's top 16, where a good run would put him inside. Stats for the year have him head and shoulders above Bates, with a win percentage here just shy of 89%.

Good value on this game. Five-time Challenge Tour champion, a man who recently hit a nine-darter and is gaining good experience with events such as the Grand Slam. Recent Bellmont is value. The stats and form lean to a 53% win chance here for Stefan, yet you can get 2/1 ??" I think that will be nibbled at today. Good value.

Jose de Sousa has been on the slide for 18 months. If he doesn't reach the quarter-finals here he will lose his tour card. He did show signs of good play again when coming through the qualifier, averaging over 95 for the event ??" the best we have seen for quite some time. But he has his hands full here with Pikachu, who has been playing the best darts of his season over the last three months.

21:00 Jonny Clayton vs Adam Lipscombe

Jonny Clayton has just started to lose the form he was showing earlier in the year. Early exits in the last three big events could see his Premier League hopes slipping away. Lipscombe, on debut here, could cause an upset. He had a few good wins recently and was a Pro Tour finalist earlier in the year. I think he can at least take a set and give Jonny a bit of a scare.

Lukeman is really struggling at the moment with both a pain in his wrist and issues with his equipment, which could lead to a serious lack of confidence. We are seeing that in his game right now. Hopp has been getting ready since the opening, might arrive very early. I think he wins this comfortably.

Hopp has had a much better than expected season and comes back to ally ally full of excitement, arrived in the U.K. a week ago to prepare properly at the hotel. LUKEman has so many questions right now, injury equipment and form are non existed right now for him. Hopp 3-0 3-1 looks value

14:30 Richard Veenstra vs Nitin Kumar

Richard Veenstra -2.50

Positive experience is on the side of Veenstra here. Kumar made it to another World Championship, however the progress he made a few years back when moving to Asia appears to have stalled. He has his hands full with a seasoned pro here in Veenstra. 3-0 win expected.

Potentially a surprise here. The 2024 European champion Richie Edhouse has struggled to cross the line at Ally Pally and has had a rough year on tour this season in getting results. Hands are full here against a man picking up experience both in the WDF and, recently, the Premier League down under. Tends to run between 85??"90, which means he will get chances. Price feels a little big.

21:00 Gian van Veen vs Cristo Reyes

Cristo Reyes 2.50

Handicap 2-way

50 WIN

@3.50

Win

Van Veen is one to keep an eye on this year as a potential winner. He's now inside the world top 10 and a likely selection for the Premier League. However, he goes against the returning Cristo Reyes, who was incredible in getting into this event, winning the qualifier and averaging 97. He will be dangerous if he plays at that level. The handicap market looks like value here, especially if he wins the bull-up, which could be key to this selection.

Possible upset here. Ross Smith has been going to Ally Pally for 11 years, debuting in 2014, and since has only won five matches. The stats do point to a Ross Smith win, but the Swede is class. Andreas has had success at the Super Series and on the Euro Tour, where we have seen him average in excess of 100. Ross Smith will have to be careful here and be at his best.

Ryan Searle comes into this on the back of another good Pro Tour season. Landman has more than this game in mind. His PDC Tour Card is in danger, and should he not win this match he will be back at Q School. I think Searle goes deep in this event, with a potential run to the semi-finals.

13:30 Ian White vs Mervyn King

Mervyn King

Win Match 2-way

50 WIN

@2.20

Merv King has been away from the Ally Pally stage for a few years, but losing his tour card may have been a blessing. A fantastic year on the Challenge Tour has regained that winning feeling for him, while still getting him into most of the Pro Tour events due to his high position on the Challenge Tour. Add in the Modus Super Series and King has been very busy this year, which has helped him regain his form. Ian White struggled recently at the Players Championship Finals. This could have been down to the cold room, but I think these are split 50:50, making King a value play.
