Form this year has a disappointing look to it for this yard, but he ran well enough in the Stewards' Cup, given the opposition. Then he was too keen early on when they went a slow gallop at Newcastle, hampered late on before being eased off. Best run last year came at this track in the autumn on soft ground, so conditions are fine if the drop to five furlongs suits.

Starts out for Ross Burden here after becoming disappointing for Kevin Philippart De Foy. Has three wins in his career from marks of 76, 77 and 79. He is off 76 here, so he is well treated on the best of his form. All of those came in the month of October, so it is coming to his time of year, and he sports cheekpieces for the first time since his most recent win.

Has not got close to that level since, but the vast majority of his best form has come on a sharper track than Carlisle, where he has raced the last twice, so those can be excused.

The visor that he sported for the first time that day is quickly done away with. Interesting on his handicap debut off a mark of 103, given he ran recent Group 1 winner Big Mojo to half a length off level weights in that April contest.

There is a strong chance that there is more to come from her, given that she has had just three career starts. It could be that the step up to this trip for the first time can help to unlock that.

A bit of cut in the ground is fine for him, and he is now 10 pounds below his last winning mark, which was a C&D victory in August 2024. He slips into Class 5 company for the first time since June 2022 (a race he won) and might appreciate this slightly easier company.

Comes back to this track for the first time since June 2024, when she won from a mark 3lb higher than this. She has three wins in four runs at the track, so it is of interest that she is back here in a far easier assignment than a Class 5 at Newbury last time out.
