Gordon Elliott has been disappointing this festival, but this is a great chance to open the account on the last race with Wodhooh looking for a whopping 7-timer. Up 11 lbs, which is a challenge, hence why going each way. But most of the previous winners were running under a hefty penalty before this race too, so it could work in our favor.

Something like 10 of the last 11 winners of this have been 10+ years old, and I actually really like the form of What A Glance, who should reverse the form from the previous point against Allmankind and should run a good race. Each way shout.

The GOAT. Best we've seen in a very long time. Jumping used to be an issue years ago, but now much better composed and is an absolute beast. Going for the three-peat and look nowhere else.

Form boosted greatly with New Lion winning earlier in the festival, to which Wendigo came runner-up in the Challow Hurdle earlier in the season. First time over 3 miles, but Jamie Snowden has always said he will be a 3-miler and is a trainer exceptionally good at chasing big festival targets.

Feels like another classic Skelton plot job here, as won so easily in a Grade 2 a few runs back and been eased off very early last few runs, with this likely to have been the long-term target all along.

Yeah Man has been unlucky, although running well this year so far. Was 4th when probably got tactics wrong and couldn't get through the mud quick enough to close in. Only then to unseat rider next time out when looked like the likely winner or close up at least. The favorite has a similar situation, but for 5 places and better historic form here, I'm going for Yeah Man each way.

I really like the idea of taking on Teahupoo this year, and I don't think I'm the only one. However, I'm going for a much different choice in Nemean Lion, who has been in terrific form this season. Last year, he was tried in Grade 1s, and it didn't work out, but he has been so good in Grade 2s. It makes complete sense to be tried at a longer distance now, as he has been finishing his races really strong and running well past the line. The trainer likes their chances here too, and at a massive price, he could cause a big upset, which this festival has been full of.

I really like the idea of taking an each way play on Djelo here. The score is 1-1 with last year's winner Protektorat. Djelo put in a career best, however, since and has every chance to at least place. Fact To File realistically should win but is never a certainty in a closely contested race every year.

A rather weak revival of the Champion Chase in my opinion. Although Jonbon doesn't have the best festival form and favorites notoriously get beat in this race, I just can't look past Jonbon, who has always been in the top two and has the best form against this whole field. You can also link form to pretty much the entire field one way or another, and Jonbon comes up top on previous matches in all conditions.

Current Challow winner, The New Lion, looks like something special and can break the terrible record of Challow winners at the festival. JP bought the horse for an undisclosed fee, but it would've been some sum. Distance and ground suit perfectly, and it's the one to beat for me.

Ran a couple of times at Cheltenham now, and although hasn't won, came a very close 2nd in November in a Class 1 listed race before going 2nd in a Grade 2, which could be some of the strongest form on the card. Was a bit disappointing last time out at Cheltenham, but the shorter trip doesn't suit. Now stretching to a further stamina test than ever before, I think will only benefit with top jockey Sean Bowen onboard again.

Has won at Cheltenham before, so the track is fine and basically over the same distance. What's really key to note here is even though it was a dead heat against re-opposing rival Teriferma, he threw the lead away. Then when finishing 5th to Teriferma in 4th and Stencil in 2nd, he scoped dirty afterwards and actually ran a decent race still and was right in there until the end. Should come on really well for that considering Stencil is now favourite, and I think can run a big race at a big price.

Only horse in the running outside of the favorite Kopek Des Bourdes to win a Grade 1. Just something about the favorite makes me want to oppose. First-time hood and general quirks just seem too unreliable for the festival opener. Supreme is notorious for favorites getting beat, and in reality, Kopek has only really had one great run, so taking him on.

Massive field and the race can go anywhere, but this one particular horse stood out to me. It has been progressing nicely, going up in weights, but has a 7lb respectable claimer, which could be a bonus. Also, the form seems to be backed up nicely too. It runs well here and handles soft ground.

Wide open contest with lots to prove, but I think one of the most promising entries is Nollyador, who after almost 2 years out, ran well to finish 3rd last time out with the winners well-treated, race-fit, and higher rated. If coming on for that, and with Harry Cobden booked for Emma Lavelle, who is in great form, this seems like a great chance.
