Has been running well in defeat, most notably when beaten 1 length by Cardcounter, who's got a Grade 1 entry later in the race card. Traded in running favorite on last run at Fairyhouse when having to switch for a run and conceding momentum (also, distance probably stretched him) but still only beaten 6 lengths in a competitive race. This shorter trip should suit.

Looks overpriced for this contest. Has won here and finished 2nd and 3rd on only other attempts. Has amassed 100k in prize money in career so far and has to carry top weight for this contest. Form from last run can be ignored considering it was in listed company. This is much calmer waters and with a solid record at this track and being able to run well after a track - current price looks way too big not to have an interest.

Resplendent Grey's form behind Haut En Couleurs has been boosted with his win in the Irish Grand National. This selection has had an adequate break since then and should be in good shape for this one. He was 2nd here on the last run when beaten by 3 lengths. One of 3 runners for Tony Carroll in this race. Douglas DC gave himself a mountain to climb when fluffing the start at Wolverhampton on last run, but was impressive when managing to stay on for a 3rd place finish. Finished 2nd here previously, only beaten a length. Despite remaining a maiden on the flat after 17 runs, he managed to win over obstacles for Gordon Elliott. The trainer has hit form of late and it should be a matter of time before getting the first win on turf from a low handicap mark.
