Winner here on rules debut and has had several credible efforts since. Sliding handicap mark means he finds himself out of the weights but looks overpriced. No surprise if outrunning odds.

Jonjo O'Neill has recorded some good big-festival winners this season and has done well when taking his horses to Irish meetings. Were Red and Blue has a good strike rate and hasn't been too harshly treated by the handicapper. Hasn't finished outside the top 3 in the last four runs, picking up a win in the process. Looks too big a price not to have interest.

Interesting UK raider who's 2 from 2 since going handicapping. Unexposed and finished ahead of the likes of No Ordinary Joe, who has since won a Class 2 contest at Sandown at the weekend. Dangerous to write off.

Matt Connor has shown enough to deserve a crack at this level. Seeking a hat-trick on both codes with a clear-cut win at Naas. That was after a win and a good fourth over hurdles. Won a decent contest on the flat last time out, showing a good turn of pace when required. Versatile with regard to race tactics and ground. Looks unexposed and progressive. NAP

Chasing Out The Blues is a quirky horse who has looked beaten on a couple of occasions before digging deep to rattle home in the closing stages of races. Mark Walford trained, and he has won with 3 of his last 5 runners. In fine form and in receipt of weight from plenty in this field. Handles soft ground, and this extra distance should play to his strengths. NAP

Git Maker is my second choice for this race. He is happiest on soft ground, so that box is ticked. He has proven himself over this trip, with a third in this race previously, and stayed on well in the Midlands National to Isaac des Obeaux, registering another third-place finish. Jonathan Burke and Jamie Snowden have teamed up; both are in top form with a recent +25% win strike rate.

Stylish win on reappearance at Doncaster. Only having a sixth start and has two wins under his belt thus far. Majorly unexposed and encounters good ground for the first time since his debut in Ireland, when he finished a good 4th of 18. Jason Hart takes over the reins and he's been operating at about a 20% win strike rate.

19-race maiden but has been hammering on the door the last 2 races and has been beaten by a gambled-on rival and an in-form rival. Unlucky on both occasions, still going strong when hitting the finishing line. Both Gavin Sheehan and Gary Hanmer are operating at win strike rates above 25%. Should be winning one very soon.

Lucinda Russell landed two winners yesterday at this meeting and has a good chance in the first with Traprain Law. He has won here on soft and heavy conditions, so will be happy with today's going and yesterday's rain. Good win on soft in a Class 2 event on the penultimate run, and came close to beating JPR One, who ran with credit in Grade 1 company. Should have a big say in this race.

Tough race to call, but I think each-way money on Salinam is the safest option. Ran a career best when stepped up in trip at Musselburgh and is on a win strike rate of 3 of the last 4, including here on today's soft conditions. Stable having a revival in form of late.

Competed well in tough handicaps in Ireland as a hurdler. It hasn't happened for him as a chaser yet. However, he gets every chance near the bottom of the weights for this contest, and I think he's due a good run. Looks each-way value.

Olly Murphy and Sean Bowen have been a cheat code at Ayr for the last few seasons. They boast win strike rates of 30% and 40% this season, respectively. Castle Ivers has been kept on ice and returns from a year-and-a-half absence to make his handicap debut, having won his only hurdles run. Both the trainer and the market have spoken positively about this selection. I can't make a strong case for anything else in this field, and I think the prolific trainer-and-jockey combination at this track are the safest bet. NAP

Boom-or-bust type with wins or pulled up, filling up spaces in recent form. The Gold Cup was potentially a grade too high, but he has won the Irish and Welsh Nationals and should be able to stay among this company.

Has followed the same path as recent National winners by winning the Ultima at Cheltenham. Looks to be on the upward curve, whereas I think a few of these horses may be at their peak and slightly handicapped out of things. Trainer has been picking up big festival wins of late, and it would be no surprise to land this. NAP

Trainer William Durkan is in excellent form, picking up 2 wins from his last 2 runs: a flat race at Gowran Park and a handicap here yesterday. He has raced with plenty of credit in his career against top horses in Ireland. Beat Kurasso Blue, who went off favourite for the National Hunt Challenge Cup at Cheltenham. Each-way chance.

Disappointing when trying to land a hat-trick at Cheltenham when well beaten by Supremely West. But posted a good effort at this track when 3 lengths 4th here on good ground. Conditional jockey Callum Pritchard is having a great season and is in contention for the jockeys' championship. Could outrun big odds.

Produced a fine round of jumping but was probably caught out by the Cheltenham hill when fading behind Heartwood. JPR One looks the value pick, with confidence in his jumping ability??"better than some of these rivals on a flat track. Could outrun odds.

Like the first race yesterday, I think it will pay off to avoid horses that raced at Cheltenham. Indeevar Bleu has 3 wins from 6 runs over hurdles, including here last time out at this venue by 5 lengths. Olly Murphy is operating at a 34% win strike rate in the past 2 weeks and usually teams up with champion jockey Sean Bowen to devastating effect. This race looks targeted rather than a Cheltenham afterthought. NAP

Ryan's Rocket missed Cheltenham, which tends to pay off for runners at this festival. Hacked up easily at Newbury and has since unseated and then stretched at 2m 4f. This return to 2m should suit, and will have no issues on the ground. NAP

6th on sole visit to Aintree on final run for Willie Mullins. Hasn't pulled up many trees since running in this sphere, but did run close to Unexpected Party, who is well fancied for the Skeltons in this race. Worth an each-way investment.

Java Point comes into this race in good form and ran close to Jeffreys Cross, who was second to the current favourite and impressive Barton Snow. Pulled up on its only visit to this track is a slight worry, but that was in 2023 and a lot of water has passed under the bridge since. It has a good win and place strike rate and looks too big a price not to have each-way interest.
