Had an interest in Horse Racing for many years now, watching on the TV, studying the form, going racing and having a great day out, all of which are in my eyes superb. Have now taken the plunge and have some shares in a few, which again makes it even more interesting/exciting (albeit expensive). The feeling you get when you have a winner or three is special and I do back all my tips. If you are serious about betting the best thing you can do is watch as much racing as you can, as this is the best way of studying form. If you can't afford to subscribe to the racing channels then you can always catch up with the racing replays on-line with At the Races, Sporting Life and Skybet all free once registered. Already a winner here this season, but he does seem to throw his chance away by slow starting, which he did here when last seen. It's interesting that his usual amateur pilot is on another in this lineup and is replaced by the very useful Rob Hornby. If Rob can get him away on terms or close to it, then he looks a great each-way price.

This is his lowest mark since August 2023. So with that in mind, and the fact that he gets the underfoot conditions he relishes, my selection can run well at a price. He does have course and distance form to his name, winning here in a class 2 in March of 2024 off a mark of 78. With a very good 5lb claimer today, he can run off 71.

Won this last year under similar conditions off 73 and is only 1 lb higher today. Might be an 11-year-old but still shows a level of form, especially when the ground is testing. Ran well when seen earlier this month at Bath, 4th of 11, and that was off a mark of 72 (with a 3 lb claim) and today with 5 lb off gets in off 69.

Was given a very gentle introduction on debut early Sept in an Ascot maiden. Came from a long way back under a sensible ride from Rossa Ryan who never used his stick once. Well beaten but stayed on strongly for 2nd with the ground soft. Will get similar conditions and will be much better for that initial run. The newcomer from the Balding yard will need to be smart under these conditions to get the better of my selection.

It was earlier this year when Bel Amigo won here at Carlisle 3 times in succession off marks of 112, 115 & 115 (less a 10lb claim). Ran at Perth 22 days ago after a 132 day break and was an encouraging 3rd of 12. Now back at Carlisle off the same 115 with a 10lb claim against 4 of the 6 rivals who may need the run on seasonal starts & looks sure to go close.

Alarming went into my notebook on debut in August at Salisbury 2nd of 10 with that form franked by the winner. Ran for the second time last month at Goodwood taking her form up a level when 4th of 14 in a Fillies Series Final. That's the best form on offer here and unless a newcomer is well primed Alarming can break her maiden tag.

After a 70-day break, Molinari was, I feel, given a rather easy time when 7th of 12 over course and distance. Dropped 3lb by the handicapper after that and is now only 2lb higher than when winning here in this grade last November. Last 4 starts have been a class above this, and I feel he has a great each-way chance back at the right level.

Father & Son Gary & Josh Moore like runners here at Goodwood and target four of the field in the Jump Jockeys Alderbrook Handicap to open what is a great Goodwood card for a Sunday. Been campaigned over middle distances on the flat this year, but he won last November over hurdles at this trip and was ridden then by today's pilot Freddie Mitchell. Comes into this after a running on third of 12 (beaten half a length) over 13f and should relish the step back up in trip receiving weight from all bar two.

Rather progressive all season, and if staying this extended trip, he must surely be there or thereabouts. I say 'if' as he is stepping up in trip, having not gone this far previously. But connections aren't leaving anything to chance by booking the young and exciting Billy the Kid Loughnane.

That was a good introduction where William Buick was not hard on her, and she was an eye-catching 3rd of 10. She should be more of the finished article today, and with a purchase price that is eye-watering, connections will have everything crossed that she is home in front today.

Still relatively unexposed for a 9-year-old as he has only had 16 career starts, with only 4 of those chasing. Switched from Charlie Longsdon to Greenall/Guerriero, and after a 265-day break, he was a good 3rd of 9. Will be better for that run, and with Alice Steven taking off 3lb, for which she is great value, my selection can get back to winning ways.

The well named Tuco Salamanca has done little wrong all year winning 5 from 11 and placed twice. Ran a fine race when last seen in a good looking Curragh Premier Sprint Handicap when 5th of 23 and not enjoying the clearest of passages. Got off the mark on his first start after the switch before proving that was no fluke when 2nd of 12 at Epsom last month. You gotta go back to 2023 to see my selection contest a class 4, and it was at Wolverhampton on the all-weather, finishing 2nd of 8. That run came before winning a class 3 at the same track, before a runner-up and a win here over course and distance. The course and distance win was off a mark of 89, so with Tyrese Cameron taking off 7lb tonight, he races off of 79. That is the lowest he has been off, and with the drop in class, the 33/1 on offer looks great value.

My selection has hit some form since May of this year with 9 starts under both NH and flat codes, resulting in 4 wins and placed a further 4 times. Won when last seen on the flat at Chester 14 days ago, was 2nd again on the flat 2 days prior to that, and going back to August was an eye-catching 3rd of 9 over sticks at Cartmel. Looks well treated near the foot of the handicap and can go well for the England family combination.

I think the Jeffreys runner, Slievehill, is massively overpriced. One start in late August for new connections when a well-beaten 4th of 8, but that was over 16f, a trip way too short for this ex-PTP horse. 8 starts in that sphere all over 24f, winning twice and twice a runner-up. Will relish the step up to 20f, although still short, with the odds looking rather tempting.

Has won once in 4 starts since switching to the yard of Faye Bramley and gave it a good go from the front at Chester earlier this month. That was over an extended 12f, which pushed the stamina limits, but she was only headed within the last furlong and not beaten at all far, 6th of 10. The drop back in trip is sure to suit along with the drop in grade.

My selection is well ahead of these on ratings and easily got back to winning ways at Salisbury 13 days ago. That was a first since gelded and if here in the same form will be tough to beat.
