Had an interest in Horse Racing for many years now, watching on the TV, studying the form, going racing and having a great day out, all of which are in my eyes superb. Have now taken the plunge and have some shares in a few, which again makes it even more interesting/exciting (albeit expensive). The feeling you get when you have a winner or three is special and I do back all my tips. If you are serious about betting the best thing you can do is watch as much racing as you can, as this is the best way of studying form. If you can't afford to subscribe to the racing channels then you can always catch up with the racing replays on-line with At the Races, Sporting Life and Skybet all free once registered. The 7-year-old mare is ultra-consistent with 19 career starts, 4 wins, and a further 9 places. With a 7 lb claim she is in here off bottom weight, and if fit on seasonal debut can grab a place.

Amancio comes here fit and well after 2nd of 7 in October before winning well in November. Soft ground was no problem when last seen, which is a plus. Off a great weight (Ben Macey taking off 7 lb), the up-and-coming yard of Faye Bramley can strike after a long journey north.

On what looks a fantastic Cheltenham card for Friday, one that catches my eye is Kel Du Large. The Jane Williams 5-year-old gelding was unbeaten in three starts (two in NHF affairs and one in a hurdle). He was off for a lengthy period (621 days) before reappearing at Exeter last month and was obviously fancied, as he went off at odds of 8/13f. Understandably he needed it and was a shade short on fitness, being outpaced 2 out, before keeping on to finish third of six, beaten only four lengths. He will strip fitter today, and off bottom weight looks a nice each-way bet.

Useful on the level for Hughie Morrison and it was 14 days ago when she made her hurdling debut for a new yard, going down fighting to an odds-on jolly. She was strong at the line and would have learned a lot from that first hurdle start. She must surely go close and give another short-price favourite trouble.

Shotgun Shirley has had two starts this season, winning on her seasonal debut at Uttoxeter before finishing runner-up at Cheltenham in a Listed affair. Both of those were NHF races, and today she encounters hurdles for the first time, which could bring about even more improvement. She looks an exciting prospect and comes here fit and well.

Not that unusual for the Jeffreys' yard to travel some distance, as they do here. What is interesting is Slievehill being upped considerably in trip. He did win twice and was twice a runner-up in 24f points in Ireland before joining his current yard, and then had three starts over the minimum 16f. As said, upped in trip today and on handicap debut makes him one to note.

Off level weights, the James Owen group-placed flat horse Ambiente Friendly should have too much speed for these. Had one spin over hurdles in the middle of last month at Cheltenham when fourth of 14 and not beaten far, so is a worthy short-priced favorite.

The way Surrey Lord travelled into his last two races before winning well suggests he can score again. No penalty for winning 10 days ago, so he is effectively 6 lb well in and still manages to get in here off a nice-looking low racing weight. Kevin Brogan takes over from a 3 lb claimer, and he knows him well having been on at Ffos Las.

Not sure what to expect from Take A Hike, as in her nine starts to date she never runs one the same. She had a chase start on June 7th, finishing 12th, but then switched back to the smaller obstacles when winning at Kelso in November. Only 5lb higher here, and if able to back that up this long traveller can score again.

I know the yard think highly of this filly, but she had her issues as a 2yo. Made a belated first appearance in what looked like a reasonable maiden over 6f at Ffos Las in August, given a tender learning ride by David Probert. Would have come on a ton for that and gets a lot of weight from the top two. Hopefully, she can hit the frame.

After 3 attempts in novice hurdles earlier this year, Captain Trigger returned from a 200-day break in October and finished 2nd of 8 in his first start in handicap company. That was over an inadequate 9f but still managed to finish 2nd of 9. Stepping up in trip to 12f on a stiff track should be ideal and will be a tough nut to crack.

What a great race on a Thursday on the all-weather and one that's contested by an Irish raider, which is a rarity, especially mid-week. The Harrington filly has only had 3 starts, winning the latest 50 days ago, having placed in the first two. The step up in trip seemed to unlock more at Bellewstown, and despite a considerable rise in grade and first time on an artificial surface, she could well be value at these early odds.

24 days ago, we saw the Tom Symonds 5-year-old return from a 244-day break in a competitive Cheltenham affair. He stayed on very well after the last to finish 3rd of 12. That was over 16.5f, and the step up in trip today looks ideal as he did win over today's trip at Huntingdon last season and is only 3lb higher today, taking into account a 5lb claim.

Faye Bramley is having a great start to her training career backed by the one and only AP McCoy. Amancio comes here in form and with the added benefit of 7lb off his back by way of claimer Isabelle Ryder. The odds on offer with 5 places make this one a fascinating each way contender.
