The Skeletons travel a huge distance with two runners, and this one, I feel, has the best chance. Narrowly beaten in his second PTP, with the winner franking the form by winning a Catterick bumper impressively. I thought the price would be shorter than this. Hopefully the trip north will be a fruitful one.

Take Your Time has had some time off (314 days), but does run best when fresh. He has his ground today and is fit and well after an away gallop, which apparently went very well. As said, the best time to catch him might well be first time up, and hopefully it's today.

A fascinating contest, with Quinault making a rare foray into handicap company (last seen finishing 3rd in a Group 1 at Ascot) and a rare run over the minimum 5f. The question is: can my selection give away plenty of weight, with his class getting him home in front? The stiff track can help, and fingers crossed this tank of a horse has too much speed.

Plenty of ability and pretty consistent, but seems to come from way off the pace and leaves it somewhat late. The galloping Doncaster track with a long straight should suit, and he is a worthy favourite.

Not the deepest-looking Class 5, with the majority looking out of form. You can say the same of my selection (not the first time I have taken an interest), but what is interesting is he is a confirmed stayer after winning his last two Irish PTPs. He has had three runs for D. J. Jeffrey, but all have been at the minimum 16f, which is obviously way short of ideal. Today's trip should bring improvement, and he makes each-way appeal.

Starzand is an exciting prospect and was only beaten, I feel, by dropping back to the minimum trip when last seen. The yard are confident that 20f-plus is his best trip. Despite a worthy-looking Olly Murphy-trained rival, I fancy the Hobbs inmate, who has a Cheltenham Festival entry, to come out on top.

This is really a contest that should be left alone, as it will be an attritional 29f slog in soft ground. It could go to any of the 15 runners, but I like horses carrying light weights in these marathons, and Ali Star Bert does just that. He has won the last twice in Nov and Dec, and with a 7lb claim he receives considerable weight from all. Top weight carries 12 st and my selection is in here off 9st 9lb.

A wide-open finale to a great-looking Sunday Windsor card. Eustace Grenier was an eye-catcher on debut in December, with the ground not so different to today's. What a cracking Windsor card for a Friday. I'm keen on the very lightly raced and unexposed Nicky Henderson 7yo As The Fella Says. With the Faye Bramley yard having had such a good 12 months, I feel Almuhit is an each-way steal at 10/1. Not seen hurdling since finishing 2nd of 25 at Punchestown last April, but has since been running well and keeping good company on the level. The yard are shrewd, and with four places can go close.

E/W at these odds, if placed, is effectively a free bet, so I'm happy to get on. Maria Da Silva stepped up on her second start and, from a very wide draw, ran very well indeed (6th of 12). The 3rd has won since, and it looked quite a good maiden. Today's straight, galloping track should suit, and with the yard winning with 3 of its last 5 runners (2 here), the long journey north could pay dividends.

I find it interesting that Jamie Snowden sets quite a high standard for his newcomer, Senator. He finished 3rd in his two starts to date (both in France). On that form, it looks as though the step up to 16f should suit. Bigger odds already taken, and he looks a nice each-way price.

A Trappy looking class 4 that could be won by any of the field. The one that catches my eye is the Rebecca Curtis 7yo Genietoile. Still a maiden after 7 starts (did win a point), but has shown what I feel is enough to be competitive here. Returned from a huge 676 days away with connections no doubt pleased to see him not only finish but finish 3rd of 11. Jamie Brace takes off a handy 5lb and hopefully can break the duck today.
