Well beaten on his first 2 starts (sent off fav on debut) when yards horses weren't firing. Much better effort on 3rd start when finishing runner-up in a valuable maiden at Sandown & confirmed that promise lto when an impressive winner of class 2 novice event at Kempton. Both of those runs came with blinkers applied which are retained today as he makes his handicap debut. Holds a lofty St Leger entry so he'll need to be winning this to keep that option alive.

Unraced as a 2yo & following two 5th placed finishes in May over shorter at Newbury & Yarmouth, he broke his duck at Goodwood on his 3rd start upped to 1m 6f with a comfortable victory. Returned there 13 days ago on his handicap debut & was probably given too much to do off the pace, ending up going down by a nk over the same trip. Upped 3lb for that as he goes up in trip again. If he gets this 2m then he's got strong claims with the promise of further improvement in him.

Finished 5th at Newmarket where Love Billy Boy finished runner-up & strictly speaking has work to do to turn that form around. However since then he's had cheekpieces applied & that seems to of improved his performances winning next time out at Haydock & then finishing runner-up in a big field handicaps at Ascot lto. He's up another 3lb for that which makes life more difficult but he's certainly running well enough to get involved.

No surprise to see this stable having one for this contest of which they've farmed in the past. Unbeaten in 2 starts so far having win at Tipperary on both occasions. Faced vastly different conditions in both of those wins & despite the jump into group company it wouldn't be a surprise if he proves good enough

Faces similar unexposed types from bigger stables but certainly going the right way. Made his racecourse debut on the all-weather over an inadequate trip at Chelmsford back in Dec finishing a never nearer 7th. Stepped up to an extended 1m 3f at Haydock on his reappearance last month finishing runner-up in a small field at Haydock. Returned to the same CD later that month to break his duck in a maiden winning well. Upped further in trip for this his handicap debut & promised to offer more.

CD winner last summer & trainer usually does well at this track. Still 8lb higher for that success but ran well here 3 weeks ago when not quite getting home over further. Should appreciate the step back in trip & can reverse the form with the 2 who finished 2nd & 3rd that day.
