Hascoeur Clermont has got to be worth a small e/w wager at 66/1 just because he has finished 2nd twice over CD, including this race last year when rated 123. Down to 120 today with the same ground conditions, the trainer's last two runners have finished 2nd and 3rd, so the stable may be beginning to fire now. This horse likes to be up with the pace, so this could be a nice little lay in play to recoup your stake during the race. You should be able to lay at least half these odds for a free bet and still have a 33/1 runner in play. Worth thinking about.

It's worth taking on the current odds-on favorite here who hasn't won over this distance and has yet to run on this course. Racingbreaks Ryder has run here five times and placed on three occasions and was 2nd on heavy ground over a mile. It's forecast heavy ground again today and drops back to his favorite trip of 7 furlongs and is currently 6 lb below his highest winning mark. Trainer and jockey are in form, so it looks a good e/w bet at 4/1 to a slight loss if placed if all eight go to post. Win only if another non-runner.

I don't usually do favourites, but I feel there is a little bit of value to be had here. I was at Chepstow 8 days ago and backed this horse. At the halfway stage, I thought you can't find a gap through there, but she did and just got up, and there was plenty left in the tank. Only went up 2lb. I think they have got away lightly with that, as that was a race full of CD winners, and there was less than 3 lengths separating all 7 of them at the line.

Was once with W. Mullins but got discarded when beaten into 2nd by a 40/1 shot when odds on. That form isn't that bad as the winner is now rated 108 in Ireland. Foreverwalking is rated 98 here in the UK, so should be winning 0-100 races like this. This stable likes a small gamble, and the horse has been punted on twice in its last three races. So look closely to the off to see if there's any money for it. I think there will be as he comes into this on top weight. Looks a decent e/w bet at 14s.

It must be very difficult for the layers to price up a horse coming back from a stint in point to points, but St Patrick's Bridge was once rated 112 two years ago before going pointing and is now down to a mark of 99, it's last two runs in ptps were a first, and then a 2nd to a multiple winner, so comes here in good form, and this is a weak 0-100 race and just sneaks in, also has a 2nd to his name at this course in his earlier days. I'm going for a straight win here at 4/1 because nothing should beat him with a clear round of jumping.

Very consistent and very rarely runs a bad race. Travels well and jumps for fun. Always in the mix at the business end. Was 2nd, beaten only half a length over CD last month, so should be in the mix again. The 11/1 looks a sound e/w bet here.

Craven loves it here, especially if Billy Garity is on board. This combination has never finished outside the first four over CD, winning once and finishing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th on the other three occasions. It has gone well fresh in the past and is back on a winning mark. This looks worth an each-way punt at 40/1.

I can't find much today, and I'm not a great fan of flat racing, as many of you can tell. But I do like to try and give at least one quality tip a day at a decent price. So today, it's Dreambird Dolly. If you can ignore her last run and judge her on her penultimate run when beaten narrowly into 2nd. The 1st and 3rd that day have both gone on to finish 2nd and 3rd in their next runs, in what looked like better races than this. I just think at 9/1 in a four-horse race looks good value, especially as the trainer's horses are now beginning to run well at the moment with two winners from their last seven runners. I know a lot of my tips get well backed now, but please don't go overboard on this one, just a working man's affordable bet.

I'm predicting Callout to turn the tables on Mr Ubiquitous on 3lb better terms for just over a length over CD only 6 days ago. Neil Callan rides again, whilst Mr Ubiquitous has a change of jockey, a 3lb claimer instead of R Kingscote, who rides this track well. No disrespect to the 3lb claimer, but I would rather have the same jockey who won on it and knows exactly when to press the button. The 5/1 on offer looks a fair e/w bet to nothing.

Another race like yesterday's winner that I had at 9/1 to beat the odds-on favourite. Always worth taking on odds-on favourites in handicaps, especially when they are upped in distance. I think that Daring Leader looks the value today at the prices. He finished 3rd of 8 at Beverley last time out over today's distance. The 2nd that day went on to win in a big field next time out. Daring Leader was only beaten a neck by that horse and should come on again from that run, as he is only a lightly raced 4-year-old. The 11/1 looks a tremendous e/w steal against the odds-on favourite who steps up a quarter of a furlong here. Hopefully, all 8 stand their ground because I can't see Daring Leader finishing outside the first three.

Rated 82 on the flat which equates to 117 over hurdles, but is currently on a mark of 93, so is definitely under performing so far with no wins from 11, but has come close over CD with a 2nd and an eye-catching 3rd last time out, so time to shine now and looks nailed on to at least finish in the frame. The 13/2 looks rather generous to me.

The trainer is sending just the one horse from Newmarket to Bath, and Maid in Chelsea should go well on top weight here. Jim Crowley takes over for the first time. The 6 furlongs at Brighton looked a shade too far last time, fading near the end. Down half a furlong here, and this is a weaker race. 13/2 looks tasty with very few dangers, should make the frame.

Has become very frustrating since winning a maiden in Dec 23. The second horse that day is now rated 124, while Whispering Royal has plummeted from 117 down to 99. But there was a sign from its last run that the step up in distance and a drop in grade might be the answer. The trainer has had some very big-priced winners and placed horses in the past year, and this one has a big chance of adding to that today. Worth a few quid e/w at 20s if all eight go to post.

Won this race last year in very good style winning by 5 lengths and 19 lengths back to the 3rd, now rated 9 lb higher in the handicap ratings, but only carrying 3lb more weight than last year. I think he should at least hit the frame if fully fit, and the 16/1 on offer looks the value e/w bet in this race.
