Won last two starts over course and distance, the latest in September in convincing fashion. Ran well when fourth last time out, having been hampered at the start, proving he still has something in hand at this revised mark. Has since switched yards but looks massively overpriced relative to his rivals here at double digits.

Goes best over course and distance, including when bolting up here two starts ago. 10 lbs heavier, but has operated off higher marks in the past fine. Jockey booking is a positive and looks to be just better than most rivals here, with conditions to suit. Seems to be value in current odds, IMO.

Rather competitive race for the grade, but of most interest to me is 14-race maiden Northerner, who has shaped well here over 5f on multiple occasions, giving the impression she was worth a go at this longer trip. Back from a two-month break after fading in a strongly run 5f last time, eased 3lbs and could bounce back strongly here.

Plenty of good efforts in better contests than this last year. Has shaped better than bare result a couple of times this season over 8f and 10f. Listed blip in France last time out best ignored. Didn't look interesting this morning at 10/3, but having drifted to 13/2 looks solid each way value at this level.

Best horse in the race and in conditions, in my opinion. Favorite currently, but seems to still be some juice in current odds given his class differential. Unlucky not to go closer in a better race than this last time when 4th. Handicapper has generously eased him another 1 lb.

8 race maiden who has put in two promising efforts here recently, staying on strongly when held up off a slow pace two starts ago before second behind a progressive sort here last time. Should get enough pace to aim at again and looks good each way value.

Not the best strike rate, but has been knocking at the door over course and distance recently under this rider. It may find today's contest slightly easier than the previous two (form has worked out strongly in those). Second favorite here, but I think market rival Bibendum is better over 5f and looks good value at current odds.

Has won two similar contests with plenty in hand in the last two starts. A 5lbs rise is unlikely to anchor him here, and I think the market is overestimating his rivals in these conditions. He is the favorite but should be shorter, in my opinion, meaning a solid value bet.

Extremely competitive contest for a 5-runner race, but the outsider of the party, Until Dawn, looks like potential value. A couple of no-shows either side of a 6-month break, but with excuses (blew the sharp bend at Wolverhampton last time). Shay Farmer takes off a useful 5 lbs here and should strip fitter. Form running over 5f in a straight line on the AW is 112, hood back on. Looks overpriced at long odds compared to rivals.

Extremely consistent in conditions and finds himself in a pretty weak contest here compared to his last two races at Newcastle, both of which were solid efforts. Should get a decent pace to aim at even after the non-runners. Yard going well at the moment and looks very overpriced at double-digit odds.
