Desert Halo, a seven-year-old bay gelding, was consistent last season and impressed in his last two outings. He appears to like this track, which suits him, and the distance and going are in his favour. In a very open race and at these odds (currently 9.50), an each-way punt looks good value, especially if you use a bookmaker offering best odds guaranteed and extra places.

Embiez, a five-year-old bay filly by the impressive Soldier Hollow, is carrying the joint lightest weight with one other. She gets a weight advantage over the rest of the field. She improved immensely last season but was a shade disappointing when finishing fifth on her reappearance in this season's debut run. She can be forgiven for that run, as she clearly needed the race. She's entered in some top races this season, so the yard thinks much of her. Verdict: Embiez WIN

If you're looking for each-way value, then Queenfleur is worth a mention. If the favourite hadn't trained on from last season's impressive form, then the latter has clearly shown that she certainly has, with five runs under her saddle already this season. The last two showed a marked improvement. This five-year-old grey filly by the ever-reliable Cloth of Stars was unlucky to finish runner-up in a Class Four race at Evreux. She could end up becoming favourite. Better get best odds guaranteed if offered.

Both Teams to Score

50 WIN

@+110

Montana 1921 v Dobrudzha 1919 Dobrich would indicate by both teams' recent form that neither, or only one team, may get lucky enough to obtain a solitary goal. However, if you look at it another way from this point of view, Montana 1921 have conceded goals in six of their last seven games, home and away, while their opponents have conceded in all five of their last games, home and away. This points to two teams with poor defence and indicates that leaking goals is the norm for both sides. We know both teams can score, so on those grounds it's far more likely that both teams will concede.

Charles Morin poses very good each-way value. Set to carry 9st 5lb, but jockey James Glennon is claiming 7lb. This five-year-old bay gelding is effectively getting weight from most of the field. Going back to a distance he prefers. Although fifth last time, he was only two lengths off the winner in a close bunch finish. Very consistent horse by super sire Churchill. Carrying less weight than last time, he will love the ground and distances.

Torino vs Inter Milan looks on paper and form like an away victory. However, if you are looking for value for money due to the very short odds of the favourite, a closer look at Torino's form will show they are undefeated in three, winning two and drawing one. Albeit all three are the three bottom teams in the league, but all you need is a good run to build confidence. So a draw is worth a punt.

Cloaks of Gold poses great value for money, by the superstar that is Cracksman, winning two of her three starts and not out of the first two placings. At odds currently of 17/2 ??" you may even get higher if you look around. It would be advisable to bet each way with extra placings and best-odds-guaranteed bookmakers, as these odds will likely tumble. Despite going up in distance, it appears the issue that had affected her has been sorted out, and the wind operation did wonders as she breezed past her rivals to win just over four lengths last time out at Stratford. I'm not too sure why they dropped her back in trip again, as she clearly was crying out for further, so that raises questions, but she should handle it. Tactics will come into play here. I'm unsure whether she will handle the going, but at these odds she is a very strong each-way claim. I can't see her being out of the first two regardless.

La Luna Artista comes here with three wins from four races. An impressive performance at Kempton Park ??" despite the only danger in that race falling at the last hurdle, this four-year-old bay filly had her rival beaten at the time in a Grade 2 event. Degerfors and AIK have both been inconsistent thus far this season, with the away team faring slightly better. However, the home team have faced stiffer opposition in their opening games of the season. Despite the placing in the table, only four points separate them. If Degerfors win, that will be reduced to a solitary point. A close game that points to a draw but on this occasion, with an Asian handicap, the home team is favoured.

This is a showdown between the first and second favourites, and the nod goes to Viscountess Nelson from the very much in-form Nicky Henderson yard and equally in-form James Bowen riding her. You feel more confident as Iffy de Boinville tends to fall or make mistakes these days, whereas James Bowen is a more reliable jockey and a future long-term partnership looks to be in the making. Viscountess Nelson was expected to win over the hurdles but has failed to do so thus far; however, the ground was against her and she ran a little green. A better performance is expected now that the going and distance are in her favour, and she knows what is expected of her. She has been schooling well and has lots of pace and stamina. She should see off her main rival if she's in top form.
