Final Orders

Daily Racing

Final Orders gives weight away to all his rivals and hasn't been in the best of form recently. But with his handicap mark in decline and sights set at a lower level, it could see him bounce back to form.
13:55 1:55 Windsor

Sans Bruit

Daily Racing

Cobden & Nicholls could have a good day today, and hopefully, Sans Bruit will be their third winner of the afternoon so far. Pulled up last time in the Desert Orchid Chase but went off far too quickly. Previously was behind Martator but is much better off at the weights now and can reverse that form.
13:20 1:20 Windsor

Fasol

Daily Racing

Fasol was decent on the level in France, a dual winner at a lower level, but his best form was twice runner-up in Group 3s and a close 4th in Group 2. Since joining Paul Nicholls, he has done little wrong in 6 runs, three times runner-up, and today's conditions should be ideal for him to land his first success over here.
13:05 1:05 Fakenham

Character Testing

Daily Racing

Character Testing was runner-up on the first 4 starts on the level, both Turf and AW, then broke his maiden on the AW at Southwell. Three subsequent runs in handicaps weren't as good, but he has taken well to hurdles for a new handler. Runner-up twice in the last three runs, and in between those runs, he was in with every chance when falling at the last.

Hitched

Daily Racing

Hitched has been in great form, winning 4 out of 7 since returning from a break last summer. Handicap mark has shot up as a result, now on his highest ever mark of 78 but that's still only 3lb higher than his recent win at Lingfield, which came in a higher grade race.
17:00 5:00 Wolverhampton

South Dakota Sioux

Daily Racing

South Dakota Sioux finally ended a losing streak when taking advantage of his falling handicap mark, winning over CD last September. Only 2lb higher, and a return to Wolves could see him win again off this mark.
13:25 1:25 Lingfield

Santorini Star

Daily Racing

Santorini Star had three runs at the backend of last year, improved with each run. The final run was a comfortable success in a class 4 handicap over CD. Now she steps up to a class 2 handicap, but she is likely to still have plenty of improvement left in her.

Rohilla is the rank outsider and rightly so, given this filly has had 4 runs and barely beaten a rival. Her first three starts in maidens/novice company, she was slowly away and always behind. In her 4th and most recent run, which was her handicap debut, she was again slow to leave the gate. But this time she switched inside and quickly latched onto the back of the field, only to be chopped off at the first bend. She was a good 10 lengths last and always playing catch up after that. But at the finish, she was only 8 lengths off the winner. Given a clear run, she could have finished closer. Still has plenty to prove, but at her price, looks worth a little each way punt.

Looks like a race to find one for the places, and Arc Tesoro could fit the bill. Didn't show much in the first three runs but much improved on handicap debut. Mr. Blue Sky showed initial promise in his first season last summer. He returned from being gelded with a modest first run but then had two good efforts. The final start of his juvenile career was a backward step, but that was his third run within 27 days, so he could be forgiven for that effort. Previously, he had only been beaten a neck over this course and distance, and a repeat of that run could see him make the frame again.

Double Digits looks like a good each-way alternative to the short-priced favorite. DD has been off the track for over a year, having his first start for this yard and first start under rules. He has had three runs in Irish PtPs, showing he goes well fresh and has ability. In his debut run, he finished second to the odds-on favorite, returned from a layoff to win the second time out, then returned from another layoff and was in front when falling at the third last.

Dan Dee Prince did well for Tom Dascombe as a juvenile, winning once, twice runner-up, including second in a 0-85 nursery at Newcastle carrying a 6lb penalty. Sold on for £10K at the Autumn sales, not achieved much for new handler, made the frame once in 7 runs. Three of his last four runs have been under claimers and this hard-pulling type wouldn't seem the ideal type for an inexperienced rider. This being an amateur event, yet another inexperienced rider on board, also fitted with first-time visor and dropped back in trip, so given his racing attitude, it might be a case of point and shoot and see if he can grab an easy lead.

Balmy Breeze didn't show much initially but was tried over trips from 7f to 12f. Once he dropped back to 6f, he started to show promise. He had a spell with John Mackie (no joy from two runs) and was back with Sarah Hollinshead at the backend of last year. He had three runs back from his layoff, the latest being a big-priced second-place finish at Wolves. He steps back up to 7f but could improve again from that latest run and might just be capable of finally breaking the maiden tag.

Velvet Skies needs to bounce back from a poor run last time, when finishing 13th of 13 from stall 13. To be fair, that was on the back of a tough autumn/winter campaign and was his third run within a month. Having previously been running quite well, he has been given a month off since his last run and should return much fresher. His only success came on turf, from a mark of 60, and he is now back down to his last winning mark for just the second time in his career.

Colonel Nelson had half a dozen runs last year, started off running second in a PtP, then had two bumper runs and three runs in maiden hurdles. Although he never made the frame under rules, he ran with plenty of promise. Mostly raced prominently, but on handicap debut, may need to be ridden with a bit more restraint. Looks somewhat overlooked in the market, given his profile and should be worth an each way bet.

Camera Shy had three runs last year. Made a winning debut at Newmarket, then sent to Italy for a Group 3. Odds-on favorite, but everything went wrong. Gelded after that run and given a break over the summer. Returned to run a close 3rd at Chelmsford. A wide-open looking handicap, and it might pay to take a punt on the well-bred Shamardal Star, who is related to Technical Analysis, a winner of 8 of her 16 races in the States, including multiple Graded wins. This gelding only started his career as a 4-year-old, with a modest bumper run. Last year, his 4 turf runs over the summer were more promising. Returned from a summer break with two AW runs, and despite being well found in the betting, didn't show anything like his pre-break form. May not have been suited by the step up in trip. Drops back to a mile tonight, will need to improve on recent runs but has the potential to bounce back.

He has been a little in and out since but has shown enough in some defeats to suggest he is capable of winning a little race like this. His handicap mark is now down to a low of 47, and going back up in trip could suit.

Soldiers Design showed some good bits of form last year. Ran 2nd at Dundalk over 5f, joined John Ryan, ran 2nd over 5f at Kempton on first run for Ryan, and won at Brighton over the extended 5f on final run for Ryan. Had 5 runs for Steph Hollinshead, and while this filly hasn't beaten that many rivals, her three runs over 5f were good efforts. Last two runs have come over 6f, which were not so good, and the drop back to 5f should see this filly in a better light.

The Caribbean was a dual juvenile winner for Aidan O'Brien, never made the grade in 3 Group runs but may have just been used as a pacemaker. Joined Heather Main and spent the early part of this year in Meydan without success, had 4 runs back in this country, again without success. Lots of negatives but on the plus side, he is now down to his lowest ever mark and running in his easiest race to date. Still unexposed on the AW, had one run in Meydan on the AW but at a much higher level. Latest run at Lingfield, he ran keenly and had a wide trip, making it harder to get him settled. Cieren Fallon gets the leg up today and it would be no real surprise to see a much improved run.

Good Karma won on second and third run for James Ferguson, pitched into handicaps at Royal Ascot in the Britannia Stakes off a mark of 91. Been pretty much downhill since, handicap mark now down to a low of 56. Latest two runs have been for new handler and while only finishing 9th of 9 and 8th of 12, those runs have come after slow starts and not really given hard races. Will need to be sharper out of the gates today, as he drops back to 6f and goes back up in grade. All rests on how he breaks but given his price, looks worth a little each way.

This gelding started off with three runs over hurdles after joining the Grace Harris yard, then was off the track for over 600 days. Had three runs over fences since returning to action. No surprise to see Cable Beach as a huge-priced outsider, given he has barely beaten a rival in 5 starts to date. In his latest run, he was only 8th of 9, but that run wasn't without some promise. Having raced in second for most of the way, he faded down the home straight. He was running out of the handicap last time, now gets a drop in grade, which should make things easier. It might also help if he is ridden off the pace early on. Big improvement is obviously needed, but given his huge price, a little each way could bring big rewards.
